Re: david patten
I heard he may end up the number 2 receiver this season behind Colston. Thats pretty crazy considering all the things he didn;t do when he was here. I guess he was hurt though.

Re: david patten
Patten never really had a chance here due to nagging injuries. I blame much of the lack of a viable #2 receiver here to Brunell's "tunnel vision" for Moss and Cooley. If those two were covered, more often than not, Brunell threw the ball away. I hope Patten does well for NO - I don't recall him ever complaining over the lack of balls coming his way.

Re: david patten
When you play for the Patriots I think you learn not to complain too much. Anyway Patten was hurt to much to complain. I hope he does good for NO.

Re: david patten
patten is a good NFL receiver. between injuries, and Brunell trying to force everything to Moss, is the reasons he didn't strive here

Re: david patten
Patten's first 8 games here in 2005 before he got hurt, he actually got a decent amount of passes thrown his way. Fewer than Moss, but it should be that way since Moss is the top receiver.
But Patten simply didn't catch a lot of the passes that Moss would have. And, if I remember correctly, there were actually a couple of defensive PIs on plays he was involved in.

Re: david patten
It's kind of funny how Brunell can get all the blame in the world for Patten's failures, but no credit for the success of Moss or Cooley.

Re: david patten
One of reasons he did so well last night was that the Saints WR were hurt. The Number 1 & 2 that is. Glad to see him hook on somewhere. He did not fit in our gameplan any more.

Re: david patten
yea im glad for the guy ... and i think he is a legitimate #3-4 on this team if not for the injuries and the fore-mentioned brunell tunnell vision.

Re: david patten
It will be interesting to see if he stays healthy. The defenses they have faced have played pretty loose so far, but at some point somebodys gonna lay the smack down on him. Plus, there is the turf factor. But if he stays healthy he could be a real threat for them.
