Jason Campbell (Chances of Being Very Good)
Isn't there a website or company that compiles tons of numbers (by a specific players) as well as other statistics to calculate the chances that player being successful?? I wanted to get the numbers of Jason Campbell.

Re: Jason Campbell (Chances of Being Very Good)
yeah, football outsiders. it's basically just college starts and completion percentage. campbell has very good numbers, but i don't think he'll ever be as good as mcnabb etc... we'll see though.

Re: Jason Campbell (Chances of Being Very Good)
Ron Jaworski felt that Campbell was going to be the best QB in his draft class.

Jason has all that you want in a quarterback. I think he is destined to be a great one. And a Super Bowl winning one at that.
That said, he hasn't had a full season at the helm yet, and he is going to have some bumps in the road this year, of course. |

Re: Jason Campbell (Chances of Being Very Good)
With any QB it is a gamble. Who would of thought Ryan Leaf would be such a bust. Did you think Heath Schuler would be that much of a bust. Trent Green, he could still be our QB now if we would of resigned him. I think the Jason Cambell is the answer but until he plays a few seasons nobody will know.

Re: Jason Campbell (Chances of Being Very Good)
What I don't get is how little respect Campbell gets from other NFL fans that I talk to. When asked about the Skins this season I invariably get, who's gonna play qb for ya dude, Jason Campbell. BUMMER. Now let's hit up taco night and scope out the babes (I know, I need new friends).
Anyway, you would think he wasn't a first round draft pick with a national championship pedigree. I expect very smart and solid play from him this year. |

Re: Jason Campbell (Chances of Being Very Good)
Well I think he's a lot better than Ben Roethlisberger, so if our D can return to form and our running game is good, I don't see why he can't take us to the SHOW sooner than everybody thinks. We'll just have to see how the season pans out.

Re: Jason Campbell (Chances of Being Very Good)
The success or failure of a young NFL QB is very difficult to predict. Jason has the tools to be very effective. One thing is for certain, now that he's the starting QB, he'll have to grow up quickly because teams will be throwing everything at him early to see how he responds.
The pressure will be on this year different from last. Not a lot was expected of him coming on in the middle of the season. Being the starter from the beginning is a little different. He's the main reason why I'm looking foreward to going to the games this season.

Re: Jason Campbell (Chances of Being Very Good)
Which is really saying something since he came out with such great players as Alex Smith, Aaron Rodgers, and Charlie Frye ... oh wait ... I do, however, think Campbell is the truth and actually is the best out of those players for what ever that is worth.

Re: Jason Campbell (Chances of Being Very Good)
This is pretty much my territory, but theres little to add that hasnt already been said.
Thing is, Campbell is a great (99.9% accurate) QB prospect. The question is whether or not he can avoid the necessary evils and circumstances that he will face. If he gets a serious injury, it can derail his development and thus we'd have to adjust his projection accordingly. If he sustains irrepairable damage to his psychological well being, he may never be a good passer again. Barring the extrememly improbable, Campbell will be a great QB for a very long time. That projection is only good though under relatively normal conditions. Change in the way that the quarterback position is played around the league could change how good Campbell will get. |

I like his size and mobility. I think his field vision is okay. We will find out as they open the playbook more. He has the chance to be great but it's awfully early.

Re: Jason Campbell (Chances of Being Very Good)
What really impresses me about Campbell is that he really wants to be elite. Just watching the pre-season tells you how much he has improved. I really believe that we are set at QB for a long time. I mean Campbell has all the attributes of a good QB and the potential to be a great QB.
1. He has pocket presence. 2. He can run with the ball. 3. He can throw the deep ball. 4. He can throw the short passes 5. He can throw the medium routes. Hopefully all of these attributes will translate into wins. After all, a QB is only as good as the cast around him.

Re: Jason Campbell (Chances of Being Very Good)
JC has the definite potential of being the 2nd black qb to win the SB. He has the arm, mobility, good decision making ability for the most part, etc. Thing is will be be able to survive the 16 game season? I know the hit he took against the Steelers was a cheap shot, but he will get hits like that a lot starting from the get go. I think he is best of his draft class so far, unless Alex Smith really gets it together this season.

Re: Jason Campbell (Chances of Being Very Good)
his short and medium accuracy is off. his bombs are great, his poise is great.
he's perfect for the run run bomb offense we ran in 91. he's not 99.9% a sure thing by any stretch though. I think he'll be above average, but not top 5-8. |
