Exclamation Saturday's reports are up-- finally!

Sorry it took me so long, fellas! I'll try to get 'em up quicker the rest of the week. I'll be at camp through Friday, so keep looking for more reports and audio clips. Enjoy!

Joe, thanks for the terrific, informative reports. Your writing is impressive. Do you write for any other media?

Excellent report Joe. You saw a lot more than I did; I had a bit of trouble seeking everything because the crowd was so big and everyone jostled for a close view of the action.

The only thing is, didn't Ramsey fumble a snap? I could be wrong.
Ramsey also seemed to put a little too much power behind his short passes, didn't he?

The 5 players who impressed me most were Tupa (he had some sweet punts), Portis (nuff said), Coles (his toe didn't seem to bother him one bit), Marcus Washington (he's fast), and Arrington (he got consistent pressure when blitzing). You agree? Your thoughts?

Hey guys how does Derrick Dockery look? I heard he had a real solid offseason. We know he def. has the potential to be a real good player. Keep an eye out on him for me thanks.

I didn't see much of Dockery. The O-line and Bugel were on the opposite side of the field from me. I did see how massive Dockery looks though; if he's as strong as he is big, he could end up being a monster run-blocker. He made Jon Jansen look fairly small and Jansen is a pretty large guy. I couldn't see if he gained/lost weight as he had a shirt under his pads that obscured his gut. All I could see was a tall, broad man.

I think that Kenyatta Jones, as the WP has reported, may indeed push Dockery at LG. Jones is a young and talented, if troubled, offensive lineman and he can play either tackle or guard. That versatility tells me we are going to see a good deal of him this year. He's almost recovered from his injuries (he's day to day with an unknown injury) and he's entering a contract year. When he was with the Patriots, many league observers felt he would be good enough to start at RT in the near future; he's not a Jon Jansen, but he's considered a very good player.

i think smoot has some problems on punt returns because he doesn't use his body to catch the ball 80-90% of the time (the other guys catch against their torso every time)... think there's a reason he does it that way? or has he always done it that way?

Excellent sideline reporting Joe... did you ever take Journalism classes? I was a broadcast journalism undergrad, but I never ended up doing that as a career.

Thanks, Hogskin! I don't write for anyone else right now, but during the minicamps this past spring, I started the process of contacting some of the local and regional papers throughout Virginia, hoping that a few of them might be interested in publishing my reports. Obviously, I haven't found any takers yet, but I'm going to keep plugging away at it, and hopefully my day will come. In the meantime, it's fun just learning the ropes of the business while doing something I love to do anyway.

Well, I sure hope you catch a break. You certainly deserve it!! In the meantime, keep up the good work. It is much appreciated.

By the way, how often will you be able to make the workouts and provide reports? Will it be limited to once or twice on weekends? I assume you have another job to handle on weekdays...

I do have a full-time job, but I took a week off to head up to Ashburn and do these reports, so I'll be cranking them out through Friday. The media access will be limited to beat reporters after the 11th, so that's about all I'm going to get for a while. Thanks for the encouragement!

Hey Joe, great report as always. Just wanted to say that if you ever need any references that you have at least 100 of them on the Warpath that can emphasize how awesome your journalism is.

You got that right! I was a journalist in the Navy and Joe is much better than anyone I saw while in. Great Job and thanks again!
