Redskins Rant
This game was unbelieveable. Santana hasn't been able to catch a ball so far this season. Hopefully his self imposed benching will be a wake up call. Portis doesn't seem to have the fire in him. It seems like he is playing out htis year in hopes of landing somewhere else 2008. These guys are supposed to be the "Core Redskins" and they haven't been able to come up big when needed yet. Then the coaching staff looked like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off on the 2nd time out. They should have known they would go on 4th during the first time out. Once again time management.

Re: Redskins Rant
I have a real problem with Gibbs not controlling the game well. He should be able to manage the game perfectly every time. Isnt that his only responsibility on Sundays?
In addition to the 2nd timeout on 4th down there was also the poor use of our final time before the 2 min warning. I disagree w/ you on CP though, he ran well today. He doesnt get to call the plays and didnt get that many rushes. He also had to (along with everyone else) run behind a beat up O line. |

I dunno if that's the case or if it's just lack of caring, which I really hope it's not. But I've been watching the Boys v. Pats game. And if the Skins don't pull something together soon, it's looking like we'll need to prepare to chalk up 3 big L's because they both look like they have powerhouse teams. This great 1st half, then piss-poor 2nd half performance the Redskins typically do isn't gonna stand up against teams like the Boys and the Pats. Cause unlike the teams we've played so far, those guys actually seem to seize their moments to excel, whereas the Skins do not.

Re: Redskins Rant
gibbs didnt control that timeout well yes, however, i thought portis gave it his all considering he banged up his leg earlier. these guys put it al on the line believe it or not. if they didnt give a shit the score wouldnt have been what it was. green bay isnt that bad, we played a tough team believe it or not. i know we had some dropped balls, but trust me the players know the f'd up

Re: Redskins Rant
while i agree that portis is struggling, you must remember that most of the offensive line is injured. everytime he gets the ball, it seems, there is somebody in the backfield. tough for him (or Ladell ) to run under those conditions...santana will bounce back..he's just missed some practices and it showed today.

Re: Redskins Rant
I was worried about our O-line depth before, but no-one could have predicted the catastrophic set of injuries to take place. Believe me, I think the veterans here on the board knew exactly what was coming after this loss. Redskins fans are no longer worried about the o-line, we're terrified.
On one hand we're all thinking, "This team doesn't stand a chance with a banged up o-line. If we can't beat the Packers, we're not going to stand a chance against the rest of the league". But you have to remember we play in a weak NFC that we can battle through here, and the rest of the league will certainly get more injuries as well. Also, Campbell looks amazing. He really gives us a great hope this season, and many thereafter. Don't even think about losing your cool Redskins fans. We're 3-2 and still right in the thick of things. It's a long season, and you absolutely have no right to hang up your hat, jersey, or any other "give up" cliches. This team has a solid defense (remember 05?) and a potentially solid offense. If we get our ground game going, and our o-line can stay healthy... we will make the playoffs. Will we? Who knows, but if you stop watching, and stop supporting... it's not worth your time anyways.

Re: Redskins Rant
O line is my biggest concern. Didn't we have a D lineman come in at the very end as an emeergency replacement? The O line has always been our biggest strengths other than the D. We are screwed if we can't get healthy soon!!!! Also I say put in McCardell in place of Moss for now.
