Anyone else notice that in the GB post game Gibbs says i'm proud of the game but we got a more important NFC E game coming up next week.

um, the cardinals haven't been in the NFC E for a while

I still love gibbs though

Re: gibbs's timequake

Is this really worth starting a thread about? He coach for how many years when the Cardinals were in the NFC E? So he had a slip of the tung.

Not cool making fun of Gibbs' memory. Respect your elders, whippersnapper...

Well next time the team plays a road game at the Rams, someone needs to make sure he doesn't fly to Los Angeles by mistake.

Ha! Somebody misspoke during a press conference! Let's start a new thread and talk about it!

I swear, don't you people know the intarwebs have limited space and we're using it up on threads like these?

Easy Sandtrap, only we can make jokes like that.

I am sure him and Bugal will prepare for this week like it is a NFC East game. Must win beat down time.

I am not as quick as the rest of you to dismiss this. Had Wade Wilson said this, we'd be all over him for being an idiot. I'm not saying Gibbs is an idiot, but why does he get a friendly pass for such a blatently wrong comment. I saw Matty say sometimes he forgets, and that I can laugh at cause he has no affiliation with our coaching staff. These guys get paid tons of money to be the Skins coaches. They LIVE and WORK football...how can he not know that Arizona is no longer in our division? 2001 was the last year they were in our division, that was 6 seasons ago!!!
I did not hear the post game comments, and if he said it and corrected himself, then I take it back. But he said (according to this thread) "We have a MORE IMPORTANT NFC East game coming up next week". What is more important than a top NFC team in the Packers than maybe the Cowboys? The Packers WAS an important game, and he's thinking the Cards are more important???
I mean, I'm ok with chaulking this up to old man forgetfulness, but you need to see the 1st place Packers as an important game, and since when has Arizona EVER been an important game? It does beg the question...does he still have it?

Re: gibbs's timequake

I've listened to both the Sunday post-game and Monday press conferences a couple of times now and, maybe I'm missing it but, I heard no mention in either of the Cardinals being in the NFC East

He does say the game is important, but understand the context of how he's saying it. In both cases he says because of the loss to the Packers it puts more emphasis on the Cardinals game and the game is now "hugely important"

More important yes, but more important than it may have been a few weeks ago. Not necessarily more important than the Packers game. Besides, what coach is going to say his upcoming opponent isn't important?
