Shake N' Quake: The top 5 as of 11/21/07

1. New England: This is starting to sound like a broken record. After a 56-10 pummeling of the Bills last Sunday night, the Pats have distanced themselves even more from the rest of the pack if that is even possible. Brady and Moss are on record setting paces. With 6 games left to play 16-0 seems more and more likely by the week.

2. Indinapolis: They just keep finding ways to get it done. After a heart breaking loss to the Chargers 2 weeks ago the Colts found a way to bounce back and edge out the Chiefs 13-10 to advance to 8-2. Right now they hold the number 2 seed in the AFC and are only 2 plays away from being undefeated themselves.

3. Dallas: All the talk of Randy Moss must have fired up Terrell Owens. On Sunday against the Redskins T.O. compiled a career high 4 touchdown catches in a 28-23 victory. With a very explosive offense and a defense that can get after the quarterback the Cowboys get the nod as the best team in the NFC.

4. Green Bay: Brett Favre. Brett Favre. Brett Favre. What else is there to say. The future hall of famer has lead the Packers to a suprising 9-1 record. With a suprisingly good defense and a balanced core of recievers, the Packers are expecting to go deep into the playoffs.

5. Jacksonville: David Garrard returned last week to lead the Jags to another victory. At 7-3 the Jags are only one game back of the Colts and they still have to play them one more time and with all the injuries to the Colts. The Jags have a real shot to take first place from the Colts when they play.

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

Since the title says "Shake N' Quake: The top 5 as of 11/21/07", I am not sure that the Colts, right now, are a better team with thier injuries than Dallas.

I think the rest looks really good and I would put those team exactly where you did.

I did that cause the Cowboys were dismantled by the Pats and the Colts should have beaten them.

Yeah, and the Colts lost to San Diego and barely won against KC.

As of right now, I don't think they can beat the Cowboys. Later on, when Freeny, Harisson, and Clarck are all back 100%, then it is a maybe.

true but Viniteari missed key FGs in both games which is very uncharacteristic

I agree Indy really hasn't played well since the New England game. I think you can attribute some of that to injuries but I also think you can trace some of that back to Peyton. I watched a lot of that SD game and he was basically throwing the ball to those San Diego defensive backs.

Then last week when the Colts played Kansas City (a game I got to watch a little of) Peyton still looked a little off. I'm not sure what's going on in Indy but something is a muck there and I don't think it is going to go away.

Indy will win this week though just because Atlanta is jsut plain bad. This week won't be a good meauring stick for Indy unless they lose, in that case then we know they are done for the year. I would take every team in your top 5 over Indy as of right now.
