Thru Week 15: Redskins 12th In Total Defense

It seems that under Gregg Williams, our defense tends to get stronger as the season goes on.

I was encouraged to see that we're now ranked 12th in the NFL in total defense. And there is only a hair separating us from the number 8th rank team, Dallas. If we can somehow get past Dallas and into the playoffs, our defense will be the difference maker in some close ones.

But this brings up another point, if Gregg Williams ends up ranked in the top 10, which could easily happen, and Joe Gibbs get's an extension, how could Gregg Williams not entertain offers for a head coaching job? Say in Miami, St. Louis...or even "Hot Lanta". (that's Atlanta for the non-MTV generation

I wonder what our defense ranking will be thru week 16 since we locked AP down & they didn't have much of a passing game against us. Probably top 10 now!!!

GW probably would stay here seeing that he is seems to always talk about how the defense is closer than ever since ST's passing. This is a special unit I feel Gibbs won't decline the two year extension either. We are playing well due to chemistry we have formed that since ST passed. Gibbs & GW brought this team together it's a beautiful thing.

Re: Thru Week 15: Redskins 12th In Total Defense

i've been thinking the same thing. ever since i heard the report of gibbs being offered an extention , i've been wondering what will happen to williams if gibbs agrees to stay a few extra years. the one bright spot i see is that williams has some players on defense that he is close to and the death of taylor may have an effect in him staying, i'm sure he gained some special bonds with many of his players and coaches. plus he realy is in a good stuation, he gets paid plenty of money, he has complete control of the defense and he always talks about how much he likes the area and how much he enjoys the people he works with.
