Re: Coach Bugel Story

I was just about to post this. God bless her and the Bugels.

I'm sure a lot of teams have to deal with adversity behind the scenes, but the extent to which the players and coaches on this staff have had to is unbelievable. Apart from the obvious, Sean Taylor's death, there's also Gibbs' grandson with leukemia, Bugel's daughter with bone cancer, Doughty's infant son being born very premature and awaiting a kidney transplant, Shawn Springs' father in a coma, and probably so many more I'm forgetting or not even aware of.

Re: Coach Bugel Story

I knew about his daughter having cancer, this is so sad. What a shame, she's so beautiful.

Re: Coach Bugel Story

1st: The strength exhibited by that family is pretty damn amazing. As Rabach said in the article, being a father, wondering if your kid is going to make it and being powerless to stop it would be ripping me up inside. She sounds like a pretty amazing person in that she is keeping her perspective simply fighting on.

2nd: How is Doughty's boy? I remember that he was ill but was not sure he had made a full recovery? Do we have a current update?

Re: Coach Bugel Story

I cannot imagine a team dealing with more adversity than this one.....and still they find a way to win.
I had no idea about the Bugel's. My prayers are with them, and their daughter.

Re: Coach Bugel Story

what a testament to the great group of guys we have. and what an outstanding job our entire coaching staff has done this season. i guess there is a reason coach Gibbs like to surround himself with " character" guys

Thanks for posting this. Gibbs was talking about it in his presser after the game and he was about to get emotional. That is just an awful thing. I hope it hasn't spread through the rest of her body.
