Warren Sapp Retires

Quite a career. I thought he had a year or two left, and wouldn't be surprised if he came back if a contender wanted him.

Re: Warren Sapp Retires

Was the most dominant DT for a while when he was with the Bucs. He fell off quite a bit from his pedestal mainly due to injuries and old age after he joined the Raiders. He has 96 career sacks...I wonder if he will consider playing for a bit to get to 100 sacks?

10 sacks last year wasn't bad though.

Re: Warren Sapp Retires

I hope we can get him to come back for the vet minimum. Sapp was probably the best nose tackle in the last 20yr's. 96 sacks for a nose tackle is really really impressive He’s defiantly going into the H.O.F.

He'll have plenty of time to grow and smoke pot.

I knew he had a bunch of sacks last year, but 10? Damn, those are All-Pro numbers for a DT.

I don't think he'll be defiant about going to the hall of fame.

And to think that he was there for the taking when we selected Michael Westbrook. Ouch.

Oh, I forgot they were in the same draft. That's right.. How is Michael Westbrook's ultimate fighting/MMA career going? Anybody heard?

If I remember right, he beat Jarrod Bunch in his only fight and then called it a career

Huh, a one fight wonder. Not unlike his NFL career.

Re: Warren Sapp Retires

The guy had a monster 2006 season, and I don't think I've ever seen a guy fall off the face of the earth like Sapp did in 2007. Went from totally legit MVP candidate to drain on the potential of the defensive unit. Possibly cost his coordinator his job.

Great career though, and I wish him the best.
