Any Warpath CAD Users Out There?
Anybody on here happen to be involved with CAD? If so, which software packages are you using?
I've got a CAD dept. here and we're having some serious issues with compatibility between InnoCielo's Teamwork 2007, AutoCad Mechanical 2008, AutoCad 3D 2007 and SolidWorks 2008 SP 1.0. The problem is definitely with Teamwork 07's viewer/preview utility. Basically, the app is locking up when you attempt to switch between drawings, requiring a restart. I talked to another site admin who is using the previous year's version of TW, and he has had the same issue for a year. The only solution he's found is to tell his guys not to use the viewer, which is pretty sad. We're the first site in the company to adopt the new distro so I'm kind of out here by myself. I've never done anything with CAD before this position, and still only get involved when something isn't working. To top it off, there's basically no documentation on the net regarding Teamwork 07. Apparently, the corporate tech suppt contract for the TW 07 vendor expired with the year. The non-contract rate is something like $300/hr, which is a little ridiculous. Before I pay the blood money, I thought I'd check with our band of experts on the 'Path...

I work in the CAD dept. at your main competitor "right up the road". We run ACAD 2007 & Mechanical. I imagine that Teamwork is a doc. managament system? I'm am yet to cross paths with a decent DMS in my whole existance as a CAD guy. I know it sucks but in the end to "work around" a problem most times is more effective than the fix. Tech support most likely will just blow smoke where the sun doesn't shine. But without a service contract your pretty much hosed.

That's what I am afraid of. I briefly spoke with the vendor who gave me some nonsense about needing to upgrade our vault, which is obviously not the problem.
