Dolphins Finally Hire Sparano

FOX Sports on MSN - NFL - Dolphins hire Sparano away from Dallas

What a shocker!

I suspect Todd Bowles will be joining him soon as Assistant Head Coach. Good for him. I always liked Bowles

I'm kind of surprised that Miami didn't go with someone with some NFL head coaching expirence given their recent history.

Oh well, as long as it helps eat away at the cowboys I'm happy.

To me this info is more important due to the fact that the Cowboys lose an assistant coach. Hopefully Garrett will accept in Baltimore too. I am more interested in how this will effect Dallas than I am concerned if Miami will ever be good again. What do you guys think?

The Cowboy's head coach is defensive guy who has never won a playoff game, and their two best offensive coaches are going bye bye. Dallas could take a big step back next year. I said this in another thread yesterday, but I think Jerry Jones is regretting not promoting either Garrett or Sparano last year. Now he's gonna be without both of them and left with a guy who can't win a playoff game.

He can always bring in Norm Chow or Saunders if he's let go by us.

Very true. A lot of Cowboys fans are excited about next year, and none of them seem to understand the significance of this offseason in terms of losing valuable coaches. They might be in for a rude awakening next season.

Re: Dolphins Finally Hire Sparano

If I remember from the post article; they've now lost their scouting director, pro scouting director, qb coach & Sparano to the fins.

You think there was some anomosity there between the tuna & JJ when he left? many said the tuna left in part because of Jones' catering to TO. Whatever the case, Parcells brought guys into dallas & now he's gettin em out.

Of course, that applies to the Redskins as well.

Re: Dolphins Finally Hire Sparano

Pardon me please for pushing this thread back to the top. but I have a question about the Dolphins hiring Tony Sparano. I did not hear, or read anywhere where they conducted interviews in accordance with the (Rooney Rule) Does anyone know whether the Dolphins are in compliance, or in violation of the rule?
