Bucs TE Stevens: Catching One too Many Breaks
Did anyone else read this article about Bucs TE Jerramy Stevens? If you haven't, I strongly suggest you do. Essentially, the article details all of Stevens' run-ins with the law and how, time after time, he has caught breaks.
I have to give some credit to the Seattle Times for publishing the article, though it comes a few years late, and to PFT for sheding light on the article. Hopefully, teams will take note. |

What's the incentive for him to ever change his ways? He keeps getting off easy, making him seem more "invincible" each time.

The real problem is that the University and Police department turned their back on a young lady who was obviously raped.
He targeted, Drugged then raped a girl. He should spend the rest of his life in prison. |

Re: Bucs TE Stevens: Catching One too Many Breaks
That's one of those heart-breaking stories and a similar thing happened to one of my best friends. The sad thing is, rape often comes down to "he said she said" and when the victim does not remember much and the police have no evidence that the attacker drugged the victim, there's not much that can be done. In this instance, however, the police had a witness and could have properly interrogated Stevens and extracted a confession. It just sucks.

That was absolutely disgusting and atrocious...these are the types of guys who are shivved in prison because of what they're in for. It's a real shame that guys like this get the breaks they do.

I'd say the guys earned another chance. Seriously though how many times did the guy fuck up? I lost count about halfway through the article. Great article.

As I was reading the article I said to myself, "Wait, why are they talking about this incident? Didn't they just discuss it? Oh, it's another incident?"

What a douchebag. I never liked that guy. Talked a lot of smack during the playoff meeting back in '05.
What's ironic is that Sean Taylor's character was assassinated after he died defending his family from intruders, constantly being called a "thug" and yet you have guys like this who are overgrown roid-raging frat boy drunk driver rapists, and nobody says a thing while they're actively ruining other people's lives. And what about Leonard Little, who KILLED a woman while driving drunk, and basically got off with a slap on the wrist?

Re: Bucs TE Stevens: Catching One too Many Breaks
I read that this morning and was in complete disbelief. I knew he was viewed as a douchebag throughout the league by other players but i didn't know why. Now I do... ugh...

Wow never liked the guy anyways but now i hear of this, can't believe it. This guys should be in jail. Can't believe guys like this get away with so much. Don't worry it'll all come around one of these days and bite him in the ass.

Re: Bucs TE Stevens: Catching One too Many Breaks
Wow, talk about a scuzz. I hated him because I sided with Joey Porter in that whole Superbowl smack-off (to paraphrase one of my favorite quotes, "if you walkin down a dark alley late at night who you want with you? Jeremy or Joey? You better say Joey cos if you say Jeremy ya'll gettin mugged). I had no idea what a destable person he was.
I have to admit, when Penn State players have been charged with similar counts in the past I have tempted to be skeptical, mostly I think because the fan in me wanted them to keep playing. That will stop now. |

Re: Bucs TE Stevens: Catching One too Many Breaks
If that woman had been my daughter, my sole goal in life would be to find a way to permanently cripple this man.
Not particularly christian of me, I know. While I can see this happening based on my own college experiences, I can't imagine having to live through it, watch this prick continue to profit, listen others make excuses for him and hear that everyone deserves a second chance. He isn't a good guy, he doesn't deserve any more chances, he should have his balls cut off and fed to him through a straw and then he should go to prison for the rest of his life.

Re: Bucs TE Stevens: Catching One too Many Breaks
I remember listening to Cowterd once talk about what a detestable person Stevens was when he was at UW. He actually was right on about that it seems
