All us Warpathers down here in the "757" (as the young guys say) need to get together for this.

I think I will avoid the crowds and go to the event in Fredericksburg with Ricky Sanders and Jim Lachey. Neither of those guys are around much.

It was a major disappointment to me last year. Basically 7 hours of standing in line for autographs, not really knowing who was signing where, general lack of information, concrete floors that rip up your feet, and none of the big players actually showing up to sign (i.e. Portis who reportedly - I didn't see it - walked through the convention center on Friday night and Cooley who showed up for a few minutes before bolting to hang with Dale Jr. in Charlotte). Could be fun if you pay the money to go golfing in the morning, otherwise I would seriously temper your expectations. But maybe you like putzing around in what amounts to a giant warehouse all day and standing in huge lines, what do I know.

I was really hoping to get autographs from Cooley and Portis, so I was obviously disappointed that neither signed. Even if they had, though, the lines for either of them would have been four hours long and I probably wouldn't have ever seen them anyway. The line that formed for the rumored Chris Cooley table (it is all rumors because no one working there will give you much good information in case players don't show, some people were able to get decent info but it all depended on who you were standing next to) was perhaps the longest line I've ever seen in my life.

The autographs I got were: Andre Carter, Randy Thomas, Mike Sellers, Gary Clark, Sam Hollenbach, Calvin Armstrong (huh?), Ross Tucker, and got close enough to Chris Cooley to take this picture:

Mostly valid points IF your going to the VA. Beach convention center to try to get graphs. The lines are crazy and the players times are spread out as to where if you want a graph from two or three special players they might be signing at the same time at different booths so its a good chance it wont happen (if they show up as scheduled).

There are some fun things to do inside the convention center the tossing through moving players, kicking field goals from close up and keep backing up, etc. The outside band and partying at the center is all fun, lots of freebies. We found that to be a really good place to talk to most of the players, coaching staff and get graphs if you wanted.

Much better fun at the beach, IF the weather is nice. But there it's kinda hard to interact with players and meet and BS. But overall not bad.

The MAJOR BLAST is the golf outing you have all day to hang out with the players talk/BS, play 18, eat and drink (Big Party) like it's your last meal all day long, then the banquet after golfing all day, once again your at the tables with the players if you want to be. It is BY FAR the best event available for the whole Blitz.

Here's the bad news this year it's a two day event, the event sponsor Buddy Wheeler emailed me last week and said they where not putting on the golf outing this year. That really sucks! Because you get everything and then some at this event. And great prizes to boot. Last year I won the grand prize a Authentic autographed Sean Taylor jersey. I was floored.

We will go over to the ocean front Saturday and check it out and I think any Skins fan that goes will have a large time there is something for all ages. Just don't expect to be face to face with the players and getting all the graphs you ever wanted and you won't be let down. If the weather is nice your on the ocean the Skins are in town and you just might get lucky and meet the players your going to see or get graphs from anyway, just have fun.

It looks like most if not all of the players and coaching staff, etc. are lined up and ready to roll into VA. Beach for the weekend beach blitz. Here's a list the Skins are advertising as shows for the event.

For those of you who are going and want some autographs, there is also an event on the 17th at Tidewater Sports in Cheasapeake Square with Chris Hanburger, Andre Collins & Neal Olkewics: TSC Authentics - Tidewater Sports & Collectibles

I would not stand in line for another grown mans autogragh. Just me though...

Now a picture might be cool, without a line (as in by chance).

I will be heading over Saturday afternoon and hopefully Sunday as well.

Looks like weather is going to cooperate with only chance of rain being
late Sunday. Temperature should be low to mid 70's.

How did Saturday go? I was up here in Fredericksburg and dropped by the bank. Who do I run into???? None other than Gary Clark doing an appearance. He said he had been down at the Blitz Friday evening for some sponors event, and was heading back down there yesterday. He said it was PACKED.

Re: 2008 Redskins Beach Blitz Announced.

I caught up with quite a few players Sunday at the tailgate party we had a real nice time and the weather was great, fun for all at the oceanfront.

I remember asking about a few players that I hadn't seen at the time I was just kidding around, but I asked about LL and Smoot where were those guys hiding....I made the comment I wonder if LL even showed up, as stated just kidding but everyone that we spoke to even some of the folks that made the Saturday Events said they hadn't seen him. Given LL track record with events down here (Tidewater Sports) no show three times and then when he did finally make the third make up date he was FIVE hours late, now of course I wasn't there but I'm good friends with the sponsor and they didn't think he was gonna show again on the fourth make up date, they where really pissed again and so where the fans with every right to be. If you don't want to sign graphs why in the hell keep committing...? Well just finished reading the Redskin Insider and I guess I know why nobody bumped into LL.

Redskins Insider

Second-year safety LaRon Landry has not been around the facility much this off season, drew plenty of attention for his post-practice race with Clinton Portis a few weeks back and ended up skipping the Beach Blitz event after telling people within the organization that he would attend. Landry attained a fair degree of fame in his rookie season and while no one is freaking out about any of this, there are some within the building keeping their fingers crossed he maintains the same attitude he exhibited as a rookie ...
