Report: J. Allen traded to Vikings (edit)
I know we've discussed him before. But with new information, I figured it was best to start a new thread. The Redskins don't appear to be players in these sweepstakes, but should they be? He won't come cheap.

Re: Report: Chiefs DE Allen Talking with Vikings, Bucs
Can you imagine the D-line in Minnesota if they get him?!?! Talk about a force.
I'd love him in the B&G but I don't see it happening now.

Re: Report: Chiefs DE Allen Talking with Vikings, Bucs
This might be one of the few trades that I'm willing to really get on board with. Of course I don't want to give up a 1st and 2nd but I will settle for a 1st and 3rd. If I read right he's about 25 years old.

Re: Report: Chiefs DE Allen Talking with Vikings, Bucs
I would love to get him for a 1st and 3rd. We need a 1st or 2nd round DE anyway, and Allen is a proven commodity. Could you imagine Allen and Carter as bookends? Together they could probably get 23 sacks with some more coming from Griffin, Washington and Montgomery.

Re: Report: Chiefs DE Allen Talking with Vikings, Bucs
I dont know. At the end of last year, I figured we needed Jared Allen and Chad Johnson and we were superbowl bound. Now they have me convinced that Daniels can play till he is fifty and that Chris Wilson will make the pro bowl next year. I think at this point, I want to see them use their draft choices and draft. I am excited about them possibly moving down to get more picks. I guess, I am not a big fan of this move.

Re: Report: Chiefs DE Allen Talking with Vikings, Bucs
I wonder how all this affects the draft. Two first round picks means that the Chiefs can trade up for Jake Long or take a QB at 17 and Albert or Clady at 5, or better yet get a DE at 5, an OL at 17, and then trade up with the Skins for their pick at QB for 21. Then again maybe the trade up is just a pipe dream.

I'd like to see him in a Skins uni but I think the price is too high and not worth paying for. Better to keep our draft picks and use them wisely.

Its like all or nothing in terms of FA for the B&G.... this man is a proven producer with a high motor. If you watched that show on HBO last preseason you got to see alot of the guy and it really made me wish he was on our team

I remember him when we played them a few years ago...he tore us apart! I'd love to have him, unlike a draft pick...you know what you're getting with him!

I haven't read the article yet but I like the sound of Allen being available. Although I don't want to touch this draft at all to do try to acquire him I wouldn't mind listening to some trade numbers.

Allen would be expensive, and we would def have to give up our first rounder...but I don't know...would we give up a 1st rd pick and a later round from next year? This is a tough one. Maybe our 1st rd and Ladell? (give the Chefs a solid back up for Larry Johnson, who carries the ball like 50 times)

Re: Report: Chiefs DE Allen Talking with Vikings, Bucs
Well apparently the Chiefs are asking for a 1st and 2nd (the Vikings supposedly have offered a 1st and 3rd)

Re: Report: Chiefs DE Allen Talking with Vikings, Bucs
In a fantasy world who wouldn't mind having him (as long as he cuts the mullet, with the fam; that way we can come outta the back room crackin up.)? In reality we have too many needs to give up 2 picks for one guy (unless that guy is Chad Johnson).
Now many of you may be wondering why I would give up two picks for CJ and not for JA. It's simple, the game is determined by how many points are put on the scoreboard, not how many sacks are put on the QB. The defensive line is a need, but the offense is a need as a whole. |
