Walsh to hand over tapes
ESPN - Ex-Pats employee Walsh sends NFL video of Pats' taping - NFL
Just when you thought spygate was over!! This makes me the biggest sceptic of the "dynasty" that is the Patriots. For 8 years we have wondered how they do it. Chalked it up under heart and deemed Brady as a future HOFer. The Pats are frauds through and through and even though he doesnt have it, there was a tape of the Rams walkthrough. There had to have been, and why not? If they had been doing it since day one like Billicheck said, then they did have one. I hereby denounce the Patriots and will submit for your approval that in 2008 they will not be as good as before because it will be Brady's first year of not knowing the Defensive signals beforehand. Not only that, but there will be defensive earsets. If the Pats win 3 super bowls in the next four years, I will see them as a dynasty. So far, in my book, any superbowl between 2000-2008 does not count and I will refuse to see them as a dynasty.

Re: Walsh to hand over tapes
I don't think anyone really believed the only time they cheated was when they got caught. This just proves what basically everyone knew anyway. Cheating/stealing etc is rarely an isolated incident.
That said, the whole spygate thing came about after week 1 last year. So for 15 regular season games the whole league knew they had cheated, and the Pats still steamrolled to 18 straight wins. I'm not making excuses, just saying that spygate or not, that offense is unreal. And yes, in light of all the illegal taping/sign stealing, their "dynasty" is definitely tainted.

Re: Walsh to hand over tapes
Out of the videos that Walsh sent to the league the one that I think will have the most scrutiny is the video taping of the AFC Championship game in 2002 between the Pats and Steelers. I have to believe that The Rog will punish them further for the 6 videos that Walsh just gave to them, and if more information comes from Walsh in those meetings between him and Specter/The Rog, then we could be seeing another big punishment in the making.
And yes, I do feel that this taints the "dynasty" in my book, but I already was of that opinion when the news first broke.

Same here but here is the kicker. ESPN reported last night that even though there is more proof, Billicheck already admitted to taping and was therefore previously punished. Have the Patriots and their head coach whose name I cannot spell been punished enough or should this warrent more punishment?

I think that this could end up being the big hammer issue. We've all probably been told since we were children, if you did something wrong, tell the truth or the punishment will be much worse. Kinda like the Vick issue. If BB had said they only did one or two games and lied about it, I think the comish will come down extremely hard on not only him, but the entire team. If I was in his shoes, I would have contacted Walsh right after the first incedent and paid a very, very heafty price for those tapes. And, even if BB didn't order the tapes to be made, wouldn't he still be guilty by association? Just like in the regular world, if you jack up some customer/associate the boss of the company is going to catch some hell too. I just don't know if it will be BB, or some other high officail in the Pats FO.

Re: Walsh to hand over tapes
I'm in the opposite camp. I'm really curious to see how extensive this practice was and how much it really helped them? I like the fact that this Walsh character can keep the original tapes and only had to send the league copies so Goodell can't continue that garbage of destroying the evidence which I found to be really weird in the first place. I want to hear what Walsh tells the senator because Roger Goodell and the Patriots don't want us to know the whole story and I think we might finally have a chance to get more info.

I don't think some of you guys would be so quick to brush this off if it was a different team. Lets say the Cowboys for instance, or anyone in our division.
