DAYUM!!!! Thats freakin great! I bet those FARC guys feel like freakin idiots now! I mean, getting played like that! They have got to be pissed!
I bet the American Contractors, once they got back, went right to a bar and got hammered! And ate a big fat juicy steak! |

Re: Hostages Rescued
The best touch was the fact that the Columbian Army guys wore Che Guevara tee shirts. Hopefully this will be the final nail in the coffin for that particular expression of clueless, exurban douchebaggery.
I hear the FARC guys are still demanding their mountain bikes.

Re: Hostages Rescued
it's really good they didn't have to call in the cavalry, since some groups down south tend to shoot hostages first or in retribution.
popular opinion of FARC has really died in the last 10 years, or uribe is doing a great job there. it's kinda funny that we're funding his war (fight/struggle/whatever) at 5bill a year while china is funding ours... |

Nice to see the boys brought back home. Sucks that it took five years but nobody said it was gonna be easy. And I love the story of how they freed them.

This is the second major success for Uribe in the last six months - the first being the strike into Ecuador. 5 billion is cheap when you consider the alternative which is to allow Chavez to play the neighborhood bully. I think Senor Chavez' rocket has reaches its apex just short of the necessary esape velocity. The Venezuelans are far too intelligent to resign themselves of 30 years listening to his BS. I hope he chooses to go peacefully when the time comes. Or not. He'll go either way. The price controls were like Belshazzar's feast for his political future. You knew it was over right then.
