Computer Help

Ok computer nerds, I'm building a new system and I'm having an issue,
I got a AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ AM2 CPU Black Edition Processor, and
a PCChips A15G GeForce 6100 Socket AM2 Motherboard, with 2 1 gig PNY DDR2 RAM chips, I got it all installed and go to install windows, windows errors out with various different erros when I start installing any solutions the RAM works fine on another pc?

Re: Computer Help

Ah, why you gotta' be a nerd if you know about computers?

Anyway, check your RAID/AHCI settings in your BIOS.

Re: Computer Help

what should they be set at? I know basic stuff but not alot about rooting around in the bios, I've put together a couple puters but they all pretty much worked right off the bat.
I like being labeled a nerd lol

Re: Computer Help

It's problems like these why I stopped building my own machines....reduce the clock speed to see if it's heat related issues and test the memory using memtest86 bootable iso cd. Also, you might want to see if the systems works at all using Ubuntu live cd (FYI, it has memory test feature so you don't need to burn the memtest86 iso).
