Will Jason Taylor use this oppurtunity with the Redskins to spring board into politics? Hmmmmmm.

Nice guess there Lux. I'm thinking if Taylor does pay Carter for 99 instead of switching to a new number, it'd be a relatively low amount for a football player, like 20-30 grand.

There's a lot of other things Carter could ask for as well. He could pull a nice guy move and ask Taylor to put a downpayment on a home for someone who needs it like Ahman Green and that safety for the Texans.

He could pull a Jeff Feagles and ask for Taylor to pay the entire cost for his family to take a nice vacation somewhere, like Feagles did to either Manning or Burress when one of the two came to the Giants.

Or he could pull a different Jeff Feagles and ask Taylor to pay to put in an entire new kitchen in his home, like Feagles did to either Manning or Burress so they could have his jersey number. One of the two had to pay for his family vacation, the other of the two paid for his new kitchen.

Jason Taylor - No. 55 In Your Program ... (Updated) - Redskins Insider

Jason Taylor is wearing #55 at practice today, but that doesn't necessarily mean that will be his new number.

Glad Carter is keeping #99. There's probably some fans with his jerseys, plus, he's been on the team longer.

As long as he doesn't nick name himself "Double Nickles" it will be OK.

It's official that Taylor will be #55. Redskins.com reports that this is permanent.

Interestingly, Zach Thomas new number in Dallas is #55.

Player Numbers by Position

Apperently that means he's gonna have to be officially listed as a LB.
