Wii Olympics

So I've entered into the Wii Olympics at work. I will be competing in the Bowling and Tennis events.

As someone who's actually never played Wii...any pointers on how to win at those games?

Practice. It seems easy but the more you practice the better off you are.

Re: Wii Olympics

am I the only one who would much rather watch the Wii olympics than the "real" olympics?

HELL NO! I hate the olympics so much. IT is seriously the most boring set of sporting events in the world. I personally think most of America dislikes the Olympics.

Bowling is pretty cool, it's one game that my wife can actually beat me in once in a while

The Olympics are a snore fest to me.

Well, I face off against my boss in bowling...so I might just have to let that one slide. My cube neighbor has it worse (or better, depending on how you look at it) he has to box against him.

So is the key to just act like you're really bowling?

It depends on what you are watching...for the most part, I'll pass on the real Olympics, but I tend to watch those things that don't require a long attention span...

Tennis is pretty tough to get used to, you definitely need to practice that one.

For Bowling just remember your overall form, steps and stuff don't help. Power and speed is determined by speed of the Wii remote, so a short quick release without a lot of backswing will normally give you good power. You do need some practice time to get used to it.

Thanks. Good to know! I think my first event is Friday. I'll try to find some time to practice tomorrow

Just for fun, take a big backswing and let go of the ball in the backswing and watch what happens, pretty funny. (It won't hurt your score).

Re: Wii Olympics

In tennis don't forget to use your backhand. In bowling, you should avoid bowling below 37.
