Rivers was my favorite QB in this draft...too bad he has absolutely nothing outside LT in SD

SD has replaced Arizona as the worst franchise in the NFL..for this year at least...the Chargers will have 2 top 10 picks next year with the Giants pick

Rivers could be the next Jim Plunkett...(rough time early until he gets the chance to get with a winner)

I hope it works out for the Chargers. I hope they get a great player next year instead of the Giants, heh.

SD did improve their D and O line. They may be slightly better.

I want to see Rivers in pre-season. See what the kid can do with the first unit. SHould be interesting!

I like Rivers a lot as well. From what I hear though Brees has looked really sharp in the preseason. Chargers will probably finish in the cellar in the AFC West but they could be a .500 team.

We all know what LT can do, looks like they might have also found a sleeper in Antonio Gates, who surprisingly didn't play a single down of college football.

I think also this might be a breakout year for Quentin Jammer.

Is rivers going to play this weekend? I assume they are going to try and get him some playing time.

If they finish like I think they will, they'll have 2 top picks in the draft next year. Who do they pick up? It would be great to get the top 2 WRs in the draft and build an offense for a QB to have someone to throw to

First post!!!
Thanks to who ever emailed me the link to this site at broadbandreports.com.

well I'm a redskins fan in san diego. The chargers fans are dealing with much more than the lack of talent on the roster.

for the last few years, the chargers have had a deal with the city of san diego. the deal was that all san diego charger home games would be sell outs, meaning, the city of san diego bought all unsold tickets for each game.

when the city agreed to the deal, the chargers were playoff contenders. now, some people in city hall feel that Mr. Spanos(owner of the bolts) is putting together a terrible team so that the city will allow them to move to another city(LA). The chargers have actually filed a lawsuit to get out of the contract with the city.

over the summer, they restructured the contract. now the city doesnt have to pay for tickets and the chargers may(up to vote i believe) get a new stadium.

another problem chargers fans have is that Mr. spanos feels he needs to teach the players a lesson with contract negotiations every year. this guy is turning into marge schott.

the most visible problem chargers fans have is the head coach. marty is a motivator not a football coach. he is lost when it comes down to the X's and O's of the game. when he was with the redskins, it discusted me to watch him pull an AXIOM out of his ass every interview. lets not forget the schottenheimer family reunion on the side lines.

But things are looking up for bolts fans.
they signed LT to a long term contract.
Mr. Spanos has to field a winner to put people in the seats to make money now.
and they should have a great draft next year.

they really have some solid young players. if they get a good coaching system and a couple of game breakers(a solid WR), they could be pretty good in the next couple of years.

Welcome to the Warpath

What do you think will end up happening? Do you think San Diego loses the Chargers?

chargers will stay. they have a buy out clause in about a decade or so. LA will have a team by then. so they dont have many options.

they will get either the city or private investors to fund a stadium.

Man i'm tired of these owners who cant afford to run their teams.
makes me appreciate the owners like jack kent cook.

heh, i thought the colts were moving to LA (for the last 10 years) ... i don't know, the LA threat comes up so much in the NFL in regards to crappily attended teams, I think i'll be completely shocked when it actually happens... not doubting you, but its the NFL version of bud selig's baseball in washington proposal... ("maybe next year")

Why isn't Marty on the hot seat? Has he produced a winning season in SD yet? I was never a fan of Marty......even when he was here.
