Hanna

According to the 5 PM advisory, Hanna should hit Wilmington, NC on Saturday morning. The track has it coming directly over Hampton Roads area of Virginia later that day. Predictions say should still be a Cat 1 when over this
area.

Re: Hanna

Just looked at that but there is a bunch of wiggle room for it to move inland or turn and just go out to sea.

Can't be any worse than when we got Hurricane Isabel.

Isabel was a very small storm and it could be much worse.

Re: Hanna

I don't want another Isabel. Can only hope and pray stays east of us. That way we will miss the worst side of the storm.

Re: Hanna

Isabel came up the coast the weekend I got married.

My wife's grandmother was named Isabel, and she had died a number of years back. But we joked that there's no way she'd want to miss out, and she came rumbling up the coast in only her style, making sure she didn't miss the wedding.

Luckily the storm was gone the morning of the day we got married. It was kind of funny.

It did eff up my grandfather royally though, he lives in Lancaster VA, and he couldn't make it up to the wedding as downed trees were blocking a lot of the rural roads he needed to take.

My sister was married the Saturday right after Isabel ( same day as you?). the reception hall had no power, the entire thing was done with candles and some emergency lighting. It was actually beautiful. the only downer was no A/C but we all coped and ahd a great time.

My sister was seriously stressed that week.

Yep, same exact Saturday.

We were married here in the Philadelphia area though. By the time Isabel got up here it wasn't strong enough to knock out power all over the state. We had a beautiful day and it all came together nicely, except for a few guests from Virginia who couldn't make it.

But yeah, we were pretty worried about it during the week leading up to it.

Re: Hanna

Hanna will also dictate where Ike goes. The last thing I want is Ike to follow Hanna
up the coast.

I was without power for 2 weeks from Isabel. At work we had 16" of water in the building. First time in 70 years had water there.

Re: Hanna

Hanna will be nothing but a "small little" storm that swings through. And before you know it, Sunday morning, it'll be up in New England. I'm debating on whether to head to DE this weekend, but the models change every 6 hours on this damn storm.

I'd definitely be worried about Ike. Cat 4 and plowing through right now, and it looks like he's taking no prisoners.

HAMweather - Bringing Weather to Your Web - pretty cool weather site with all the track models and different maps for Tropical systems.

Right now it looks like DE/NJ/Eastern Shore is gonna get hit head on.

Hanna is weak. I'm down here on the Outer Banks right now. This thing is going be fun on Saturday, but is going to be out of here pretty quickly.

Re: Hanna

Cocks lose Skins lose bring on the damn hurricane to make my weekend awesome! Cpayne really would not underestimate this storm like that. Outer banks tend to go under pretty easily.

It's a TS, not a hurricane, and is supposed to come and go within a matter of hours. Nothing more than a hard rainstorm. It's coming from the south, and the storm surge is supposed to be hardly a surge at all. Nothing to be worried about.

Re: Hanna

Yep, Hanna is gonna be in and out, one night stand style...Delmarva's getting the brunt of it, but storm surge on seas doesn't look too bad. And Sunday's looking very nice...so what the heck. We'll go down, get some shopping done on Sat. and bake in the sun on Sunday.
