It's politics. McCain's almost certainly doesn't really believe it, but as long as they can get some voters to believe it that's what counts. You can certainly find examples of this from both sides.

Fact is, and it's unfortunate, the issues play such a small role for many voters in deciding who they will vote for in November.

Yeah I know it's how it goes, I guess it's just one of many things that sours me on politics. Maybe I'm asking for too much, but it would be nice to see less smear campaigns, more focus on the real issues like the economy and education and not choice issues like abortion and gay marriage.

Re: Lipstick On A Pig

I'm not sure how I feel about this. There is only one person running that wears lipstick and she has been attacked 24/7 sense her name showed up as VP. So was it directed toward her to get some laughs? Maybe, or was it just a comment he made about McCain? Don't know, but he choose those words after all the Sarah bashing so why not use his own words against him. He is slipping in the polls and McCain is up by around 4% maybe we will see Obama is feeling the preasure.

You gotta be kidding? Obama isn't dumb enough to make a sexist remark on purpose. It is a common phrase that he used and it is being blown way out of proportion. I'd feel actually sorry for him if he actually was living up to his mantra of change but he isn't. His campaign is politics as usual and it is disappointing honestly. McCain's is similarly disappointing but not all together unexpected. Our system sucks.

These clowns work like clockwork. When you think they can't get lower they'll surprise you with a kick to the balls.

Re: Lipstick On A Pig

it's all a gotcha game.

look, obama voted party lines 97% of the time, mccain 85% (at least, before the massive pandering, but both sides have been doing it).

neither one is going to fix america - we still have big problems with economic impacts of social programs (SS, medicare), insane nuclear laws (we could make energy and transportation almost free if we wanted), way too many inmates per capita (vocational training? relocation?) and no one's really touching those things.

pre college education can probably be improved too... i know newt had some decent ideas there - i haven't really looked into it personally. obama's plan is better than nothing, but i really don't see all these teacher's he wants magically appearing. he wants more teachers AND to hold them to higher standards which doesn't work. ask the army about it...

Re: Lipstick On A Pig

Well I don't know what he was thinking when he said this comment but we do know that only one person running for office wears lip stick. If the comment was about race everyone would assume it was about Obama.

Yeah, but there are no racial remarks that are considered "common expressions"

Well if he wants to hold teachers to higher standards then he is going to have to go after the teachers union which he is not going to do anytime soon. After a teacher has been in the system for over 4 to 5 years its about imposable to fire them unless they break a law. The Dems have fought hard against nuclear energy every chance they get.

Your right the "pig with lip stick" is very common and I hear it used everyday. Laugh, I'm sure its so common then Obama has a history of using this very common phrase before Sarah entered the race.
