Brunell named starter & Skins interested in Douglas

Don't have links yet, heard it on ESPN radio. Skins are one of 4 teams showing interest in Hugh Douglas, and not much of a surprise here but Brunell has officially been named as the starting QB.

Well at least its over now. I was really pulling for Ramsey from the day we got Brunell, and I still in my heart wish he was the starter, but Its obvious he's not ready to lead this team this season. I defintely hope and think Brunell has what it takes to be part of a winning team. If he goes down, I still have full confidence in Ramsey.

I'm hoping that maybe now Ramsey can relax and play the way I think a lot of us know he's capable of.

I watched this show on the NFL network about Jacksonville and their training camp. They had a pice about Douglas showing how he lost a lot of weight this off season and is in great shape and ready to perform. he also looked good in the practices that I saw. Im a little surprised that they let him go. Expecially since the Jaguars have a coach that worked with douglas in philly, I dont remember who but it seemed liek everyone was excited about him this season.

He sucked last year, and could be another guy that only dominates under jim johnson, but hes still more of a threat then we have, hes worth trying out.

I just read that article, there are four team interested in him, as noted above. But three of the teams are in the NFC East, the eagles, giants and us.

I dont really want him to go back to philly where he shined, that would give them two solid ends with some good backups. And in new york it would put him opposite strahan... Opposite kearse or strahan doesnt bode well for us, even if hes lost a step.

His fourth option is playing opposite Ogunleye. Seems like wed be teh only team that he could play for where he wouldnt benefit from a top notch end on the other side. We might want to get him just so he doesnt sign with another team in the NFC east.

They could still be upset for him coming into camp out of shape last year. They may have been hoping that some young guy could make him expendable.

I'd bring him in, but only for the minimum. Maybe we strike gold and get a hungry player wanting to prove critics wrong like we did for Gardner's year here.

From what I heard on the radio Philly is probably his top choice, if they want him back.

As for Brunell no surprise here, Ramsey just isn't ready.

I guess that head scratcher of a move in bringing in Brunell wasn't so curious after all.

If he does go back to Philly. It would be interesting that both Trotter and Douglas go back there

Anyone else here think that Jim Johnson deserves a shot as a head coach?

I watched Hugh Douglas play against Green Bay this past week (on NFL network replay) and he did not play that bad he made some decent athletic plays chasing RB down from behind. No sacks though.

Joe wants a veteran, and Ramsey did nothing to win the job especially in the last preseason game against the Rams...............Of all the 3 from what I've seen Hasselbeck has looked the best Let's hope with time Mark gets more comfortable with Joe's system..............

Douglas has had knee injuries in the past. Sometimes veteran players put on a great show to get signed and then retreat to an abyssmal deep. You know what I mean? Try Armstead, Trotter, Sanders,etc....
