Re: Zornometer midterm grade
I'm a 4. He clearly knows what he is doing. To me a 5 is someone who has won a SB. He won't be a 5 to me until then.

Re: Zornometer midterm grade
I think I was a 5 a couple of weeks ago. The loss to the Rams lowered that a bit. I am a solid 4 and I think thats fair.

Re: Zornometer midterm grade
He's still at 4. I don't think I can give him a 5 until the season ends with a SB trophy.

Re: Zornometer midterm grade
Definitely give him a 4. If it weren't for the St.Louis game (I know, I know, fumbles weren't his fault, but the buck stops with him as HC), he'd be a 5 right now. If we score more and figure out the whole turnover/sack thing, he'll quickly become a 5 in my book.

Re: Zornometer midterm grade
4. Fix the red zone offense and we have a long-term head coach.

Re: Zornometer midterm grade
I gave him a 5 in mid-August, and I'm standing by that. His relationship with and development of Jason Campbell is the reason that he was brought in. The players obviously appreciate Zorn's approach, and play very hard for him. If they can eliminate the self destructive penalties that keep the O from finishing drives, this team will become much harder to beat.

Re: Zornometer midterm grade
I gave him a 3, I have had him at a 4+ to 5 on the last two polls, and I still have confidence in him. However, I am starting to wonder about his play calling around the opponents 40-20. Yes its all the penalties/fumbles etc that are killing drives, but that is what a coach is supposed to be coaching up. Our drives consistently stall around the 35yd line, and I wonder if opposing d's are seeing something, or not enough practice is going to that situation.

Re: Zornometer midterm grade
I started him from a 2 in preseason...cause hes a rookie, the Giants game proved that.
Then after Dallas, I gave him a 3... After Philly I gave him a 4 because it wasn't a 1 game fluke... However, My main perspective is this. You give a coach a 4 if he can get you to the playoffs, You give him a 5 if you are a hall of famer or get you to the Superbowl. Right now...If I could, I'd give him a 3.5, because the team has played down to the Rams and Lions. He has had some questionable coaching decisions, deciding to go conservative at the end of 4th quarters against weaker teams. I think teams have figured out how to keep his offense between the 20s too. He needs to adjust some stuff offensively to get us to score more. That is a big step for a Rookie HC.

Re: Zornometer midterm grade
I liked the Zorn hiring from the minute it was announced but I never dreamed it would be working out so good so soon. He is a tell it like it is, breath of fresh air in this organization, and his coaching aint bad either.
Right now he's a 5 (subject to change). |

Re: Zornometer midterm grade
Sticking with my four since the beginning of the season. I need a full season of him as head coach and at least a deep deep playoff run before I give him a 5
