Redskins vs. Steelers predictions

How do you like are chances against the steelers Monday night at FedEx. They are coming of a tuff loss at home.

We are coming off a victory on the road. I don't think the team or coach's are real happy with the performance against the lions, I'm very happy we won with all the injuries but we need to improve. And getting some of the starters back will be very helpful.

But that ugly win beats a pretty loss. We are sitting nicely at 6-2 at the midway point. The steelers are sitting at 5-2.

This next four is the tough stretch of our remaining schedule. If we can pull another 3-1 out of the next four games that will be really nice. The last four games are/or should be much easier work than the next four.

And thank goodness for the bye after this Monday niter. The guys need this break and maybe can can even get a few healthy bodies back. Then it's time to roll hard for a playoff push.

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers predictions

Pitt. was missing like 4 starters against NY including Parker and Holmes. We will already be w/o Taylor and Springs and some are speculating Moss may not be able to go even though I think he will. If Samuels has to have surgery, God help us. However, having Horton back will be nice even though Green held his own.(2cd in tackles)

I don't see Big Ben throwing 4 int. or getting sacked 5 times against us. Our team is totally banged up and in desperate need of the bye, especially seeing as we had the extra pre-season game as well as all the two a days.

I can see this being a close game decided by three points or less either way. I think it all depends on how we execute our game plan and which way the ball bounces. I've thought for a while now that Campbell's first "true" pick (not one that's been deflected into the opposition's hands) would come against Polomalu. Hope this does not come true.

Steelers played horrible and really had an off night against NY.( NY should've had that other TD also) However, we've lost the turnover battle for 3 weeks straight and we've missed our fair share of opportunities as well, and I don't see this being a continuing trend. With that being said, we always play to the level of our competition and we just happen to be on the lucky side of the fence this year pulling off close victories we would've lost last season.

In a nutshell, I'm going with the Skins:21, Steelers:20

I surprised you would have us in a nail biter.....

But I like the final product!

I'll agree it will be a close (the usual) hard fought game, but we will step up to the challenge! And FINISH at home, where the 12th man rules!! I see us winning by three or less.

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers predictions

The only problem I see is the steelers defense. They are number 1 or 2 against the run, so I dont see portis getting over 100 yards. But I think this will force Zorn to open up the passing game a little more. Maybe we will get a chance to see some action from Devin Thomas. I predict another close one. I reallly can't make a prediction on the score or who will win. I just think it will be close.

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers predictions

Steelers O is in poor shape and with the off field stuff getting in the way, I can't see them having more success than they had against the Gmen. I actually think we have a better run D than the Gmen and our secondary is pretty sharp too. We may even get pressure on Big Ben.

No this one is down to whether our O can do the necessary. I think we can get more yards on the ground and with our conservative style in passing, we may overcome their pass rush. But we won't put many points up.

I say Skins 17-10. Score will make it look closer than it is again.

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers predictions

I think Zorn is chomping at the bit to put up 30pts, he is starting to trust Jason, and is about to let the passing begin in earnest. Having said that, I have no idea how this game will play out. A huge part will be how our Oline does.
Lets say 27-21 Skins.

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers predictions

Like: Randle El going against his old team. Dislike: Heyer at LT
Like: Portis running wild. Dislike: No one else running well at all
Like: Moss dominating. Dislike: Moss dominating the catches, where are the other WRs?
Like: Redskins at home. Dislike: White on White on Monday night, can we see some burgundy?

We continue to play up or down to our competition.

Redskins 17
Steelers 20

Playing close bites us and the Steelers defense stops Moss.

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers predictions

This is the game where Cooley makes a statement (2 TD's), Moss's production is sacrificed for his health (4-5 Rec., 45 yds.), and Portis is held somewhat in check (95 yds., 1 TD). I think we have a Devin Thomas sighting (5 Rec., 85 yds.), and Randle El chips in nicely (4 Rec., 65 yds.)
On defense, the 'Skins stuff the Steelers ground game, and they pressure Big Ben just enough to make the difference ...

Redskins 27
Steelers 13

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers predictions

steelers offense has serious issues and struggles to score tds, but they get after the qb on D.

our offense racks up the yards but has recent struggles scoring tds, we dont pressure the qb all that well nor call exotic zone packages (except the horton int vs dal) to coax a willing participant in big ben. we do play very solid all around D thoo.

skins 23
'burg 16

go skins!!

Excellent analysis. I would add that the Steelers will be hungry coming off of a loss.

I hope that the fatigued Redskins can rise to the occasion just one more week.

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers predictions

The Redskins have played down to the level of inferior opponents, but have risen up beyond the level of superior opponents. The Steelers and Big Ben are media darlings, and the pundits will talk about how the Steelers are "mad" and want to rebound from a tough loss at home against a Redskins team that went 2-1 against three teams with a combined record of 5-16. The banged up Redskins will be an underdog, no matter what anyone says. I hope this motivates them the say way it did when they faced Dallas and Philadelphia. My hope is that the Redskins win this one at home by a TD or less.

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers predictions

Might I add to all of these predictions that the Steelers are 9 and 1 coming off a loss. We aren't sacking, we won't get to Ben. Portis held to <75 yards.

I don't like this game. Matter of fact, I have 4 tickets available if anybody is interested, I need to see the replays of this game from my home.
