the choking Saints and Jags are rated ABOVE the Redskins ????????????????

The heat is on Mike Shanahan, but he has the makings of a nice club -- division-winning nice. The defense will decide if this is a Super team.

So much offense still, but so little difference on defense. They changed coordinators, but the talent is the same, and it won't be enough to get to the Super Bowl.

Trendy picks usually don't pan out. Plus, they will be 0-2 after two games, losing at New Orleans and at Tampa Bay. Climbing out of that hole is tough, even in an easy division.

This talented team is mature now and ready to take a major step forward. The key is keeping Aaron Brooks on top of his game.

As long as Steve McNair is flinging footballs, they'll compete for a playoff spot. Plenty of youngsters have to come up big on defense.

One-year wonder? Maybe not, but they won't repeat because of offensive line woes.

Brett Favre, Ahman Green and the offense will be fun to watch. Youth on defense has to come up big.

As die-hard fans we always think that we are the best team in the NFL. Hell for the past 11 years I've been preaching to all my friends and non-redskins friends that we're gonna go 14-2 and win the superbowl. But guess what we've had a whole bunch of 500 seasons and a couple of 4 and 3 win seasons. Think about it 19 is pretty good for us, we probably would be ranked 150 if the ol'ball coach was still coaching.

But being a die-hard I still stink we're gonna go 14-2 and win the superbowl!

How can you trust a poll that says the #1 team won't win the super bowl? If you don't think they're good enough to win it all, then they shouldn't be #1.

As for the Skins ranking, I'd rather climb than fall.

I was just telling my friends the other day that I havent been this pumped up for football since, well uuh last year!! And the year before that ect... So yea your right. Us die hards do always think this is the year! But hey. That's half the fun.

The only thing that is surprising about this rating is that the Redskins are as HIGH as they are. Prisco, the main voice of SportsHine has been a Redskin hater for years. Ever since Snyder hired Gibbs he has come up with one explanation after another as to why Gibbs will fail. The poor guy's brains are buried in fat cells - very little can get in or out.

The funny thing about their assessment of us at #19 is that they see the opposite of what we've seen. Anyone who's watched our preseason games can attest to the fact that our first team defense has been by far the most impressive unit, not our offense. The first team defense didn't surrender a TD the entire pre-season even after missing starters like Lavar and Barrow.

These rankings just aren't credible.
