Dolphins
Can you believe the Dolphins and Parcells?
Dolphins went from the worst record in the NFL at 1-15 to 11-5. The Dolphins picked up Chad Pennington and Anthony Fasano for nothing. They started the 2008 with something like nine new starters. Nice job. By the way their 2008 draft, they drafted one OT, 2 DE's 2 G's and one DT. Hey Snyderatto...PAY ATTENTION! Build your lines first. Last edited by Defensewins; 12-28-2008 at 09:20 PM. |

Re: Dolphins
GREAT JOB. That is one hell of a turnaround. Hopefully with a few SMART moves we can improve ourselves. Obviously it can be done. Parcells is a great evaluater of talent.

Re: Dolphins
I know everyone wants to give Parcells all the credit but they got very lucky when the Jets cut Pennington. He fell right in their lap.If not for Pennington they'd have Chad Henne playing.

A tip of the hat to Chad and the Dolphins. Favre making the pro-bowl over Chad and Rivers is a total joke. 10 INTs and 2 TDs in the last 5 games. Ick. Serves the Jets right for running Chad out of town.

Re: Dolphins
Well this is the Dolphins' draft picks from this year, our draft next year should look something like it (minus the RB, FB and QB I would say):
1 Jake Long OT 2 Phillip Merling DE 2 Chad Henne QB 3 Kendall Langford DE 4 Shawn Murphy OG 6 Jalen Parmele RB 6 Donald Thomas OG 6 Lex Hilliard FB 7 Lionel Dotson DT

Re: Dolphins
I believe Pennington played for Parcells when he was with the Jets and that's the reason he chose Miami and not Minnesota.

Snyderatto never saw a offensive skill position player that they did not want to draft and rate as a 1st round talent. How many times have we heard, "We had him rated as a 1st round talent and he slipped, so we had to take him." If he slipped, he slipped for a reason. Unless they slipped for smoking weed (Randy Moss & Warren Sapp). But the main problem with our FO is our talent evaluation sucks. |

Re: Dolphins
They could trade Rogers since he's got value due to a strong year or McIntosh who looked horrible all season (I know he's coming back from injury, but man).

Re: Dolphins
The 2008 Dolphins proved the need for continuity is an overrated excuse for a bad team.

Re: Dolphins
Yeah, for everyone who says that Redskins fans are the most impatient, that all we want is instant success -- I give you the 2008 Miami Dolphins.
Colin Cowherd said it best earlier last week. Bill Parcells, along with the Atlanta Falcons, just proved to teams like the Texans, the Browns, the Redskins, the Lions, the Seahawks, that not only can you turn your team around in one year, you SHOULD. In this league, you have two groups of people -- the contenders, and the excuse-makers. I know there are several ardent Cerrato defenders here. I'd like to know, how much longer will you keep making excuses for the guy? |

Given what we know now about the relative qualities of the AFC West and NFC West, it's not at all surprising that the Dolphins, Pats, and Jets managed to combine for 31 victories this year. What is surprising is that out of all the teams in the AFC East, it's the Dolphins who had the best defense this year. While their defense wasn't even as good as our defense, IMO, after it was last in the league in most categories last year, it's certainly surprising that Parcells has it at 'mediocre' in only one season.
