West Coast Offense
If we're going to discuss it, let's understand it. West Coast offense - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Re: West Coast Offense
To me it will always be the "Paul Brown Offense".

Re: West Coast Offense
Maybe it didn't quite work out so well at home this season...how do you run a 'west coast offense' on the EAST COAST.......? Coaching/Scheme error! The players and of course JC couldn't be at fault for that....OR could they?
No wonder that crap didn't work!

Re: West Coast Offense
You can see how important precise route running and reading the defense by the receivers is for this offense to run properly. Also reading the defense, checking down or throwing a timed route on the receiver break, by the QB. It would be impossible to install and run this offense at a high level in the first year with players who are unfamiliar with it IMO.

Re: West Coast Offense
I get so tired of this WCO BS. No one in the NFL runs a pure version of it anymore. It's just a name. Some of the terminology may be the same but that's it. This offense ( and all the other versions of it) doesn't look anything like the offense that Bill Walsh ran.

Re: West Coast Offense
It would be hard to argue with the success of the WCO in the NFL or the quality of coaches who have used it. I just hope Zorn can reach the same level of success as some of the others. 12 teams featuring the WCO have been in the Super Bowl since 1981. The record of these teams in the SB is 9-3 with Seattle being the last in 2005. Whether there is enough patience to allow it to develop here.....I don't know.
