Appears we made a difference!

From Fred Smoot's Q&A on the Redskins site:

Q: What did you think of the FedExField crowd?
A: "I loved the crowd out there. The people of D.C. really affected this game. The 12th man was awesome out there today. I love it when FedExField is like that. If we can keep that going every game, we're going to have a lot of fun this year."

Sitting in the nosebleeds, it's hard to tell how much noise is actually reaching the field. When I got home, I watched some of the game on TV (as I had recorded it) and the crowd sounded really loud. Anybody who was there and near the field have an opinion?

I hope Smoot wasn't just being overly exuberant in his description.

I was at the game and it was the greatest feeling ever to be part of that. I did not see 1 empty seat. It was so loud that Jon Gruden said that it affected their offense. The 12 man is back. RFK 2004

I was in the 200's and it was the loudest I have ever heard it...we still have a long way to get to RFK status....I can remember being at RFK and seeing the top level shake and not being able to hear my dad right beside me, it was loud yesterday...but not as intimidating as RFK

That's great to hear. :thumb: I sure hope the crowd is like that all year! I can't wait to get out there for the Dallas game and hear it for myself!

JUST GOT BACK FROM D.C. What a freaking experiance. I lost my voice three plays into the game. That was just the most amazing atmosphere to be a part of.

I went once in the 80's, and the woman who invited me had a ridiculously loud cow-bell. By the 4th quarter she was waiving this thing inches from my head, and I could'nt hear it over the roar of the crowd.

When I was watching the game I didn't think the crowd was very loud, guess I was too busy concentrating on other stuff. But when I went back and watched the game over I could definitely hear the crowd and it was very loud, the loudest I've heard FedEx.

I agree that it sounded loudest I've heard it on TV, except maybe the one playoff game in '99. Great job to everyone that was there!!!
Also, it was very nice to see most of the club level seats filled for the entire game after seeing so much yellow the last couple years.
As for it not being close to the RFK level, my thought is to give it time. Just like the offense will take a while to really come together, the crowd has to get used to cheering a winning team again, and when the Skins are making their run for the playoffs later this year, I think it will be insane!!!

Apparently, the crowd noise was good enough.

I hope it gets even louder, 90K fans should pretty much deafen the opposing team. But they gotta be FANS.
