Housh wants to be an Eagle

Everyone loves coming to the NFC East.

I obviously wouldn't like to see this.

Him and DeSean Jackson would give the Iggles the best pair of receivers McNabb has had in a while. It would also make McNabb happier about staying in Philly I would think.

Re: Housh wants to be an Eagle

As a SKINS fan this would suck, because the Eagles are tough as it is, and now with TJ IN THE MIX possibly, (Rumor) The skins need to step up and add some offense to keep up with the East, or else we will finish Last again...

Re: Housh wants to be an Eagle

True, but i agree with Florio that McNabb wants out of Philly.

I'm not worried about Jackson or Housh if Kolb is throwing to them. If the eagles are going to spend tons of money on a player and use all their cap room, id much rather it be on Housh than on a guy like Haynesworth, Dansby, Suggs, Lewis, or Scott.

Our defensive backfield (assuming we keep 2 of Hall, Springs, and Rogers) can handle the eagles offense with our without housh... On the other hand, our Offensive line cant handle the eagles defense if they get too many more playmakers.

On another note, I saw on ESPN insider that Dansby LB Cards is interested in the Giants.

Re: Housh wants to be an Eagle

This is from ESPN Insider....I wonder how much Philly would pay for Housh, they are not known for paying big bucks (well they paid Asante Samuel I guess)

Quote:
T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who will become an unrestricted free agent later this month, was a guest on the Chicago-area Waddle and Silvy show on Wednesday, and the wide receiver dropped some hints that he's quite receptive to playing for the Chicago Bears, as reported by the Chicago Tribune.

Asked if he had narrowed down the teams for whom he'd like to play, Housh responded, "I haven't narrowed it down because I don't know who's interested and who's not interested. So, once you get a feel for who would be interested, then you begin to look at the roster; look at the offensive coordinator and the coaches and the quarterback, and things of that nature." Teams are forbidden from contacting potential signees until February 27, so this would explain why no official "interest" has been expressed to Houshmandzadeh so far.

Later in the interview, Houshmandzadeh was asked what he thought of Bears coach Lovie Smith, and said, "you know a coach that coached under Tony Dungy is a good coach, and a cool guy. So, that always helps. Yeah, man, anybody that comes under Tony Dungy, if they have any type of the characteristics that Tony Dungy has, you can't beat that."

In addition to the Bears, sources have listed the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers as possible destinations if Houshmandzadeh decides to leave the Cincinnati Bengals. Chad Ocho Cinco told Bengals website columnist Geoff Hobson that he needs Houshmandzadeh on his team "like Hugh Hefner needs playmates."

Re: Housh wants to be an Eagle

Housh was talking on an ESPN affiliate in Philadelphia when he said he wanted to be an Eagle. What did you expect hime to say? That he wants to play for the Seahawks?

He was addressing a market, and that market was in Philly. Same thing when he said he he was receptiive to the Bears...he was talking to the Chcago Tribune.

Fact of the matter is he will play for the team that offers him the right contract, in length, currency and role. No telling who will do that this early in the game.

But Housh in Philly is a scary thought indeed.

If I was a Bengals fan i'd be kind of p*****. He's publicly talking about wanting to play for another team. It's ok to privately have your own opinions but show a little bit of respect for the tons of fans you have in Cinci.

He's going to be a FA and the Bengals as an organization really suck, so why even pretend he's going to stay in Cincy. If the Bengals had been smart, they would have traded Chad Johnson, pick up some draft picks, pick up some young players to build their defense and any other areas they need help with, along with a young WR to develop. This offseason, they would have had enough money to give TJ the deal that he wants.

If he is a free agent with no more NFL games to play then he is playing for Team Houshmandzadeh.

Would you have liked for one of our good FA's in the past...hmmm let's say Gary Clark to come out and say he'd like to play for the 49ers.

I'm not saying he doesn't have the right to do it. He does. I'm saying if I'm a fan and have bought a Housh jersey for me and my kid's, I'd rather him not say come out and say he'd rather play for another team.

How about, "I'm a FA, I love it here in _____ or my first choice is here in _____, but if it doesn't work out I'm going to look at all the options." End of story.

can't compare the redskins of that time to the bengals of now. the bengals are a horrible organization and if i were a fan it wouldn't bother me at all.

Re: Housh wants to be an Eagle

Just watching NFL Live - Michael Smith is reporting that Housh will most likely end up on the west coast, where he's from. His family is there and he went to Oregon St. Smith said it will be either Seattle or San Fran.

The game has changed to a business first, emotions second model. I can't fault the guy for trying to pander for his best interest. I don't think it's any different than a newly signed free agent pandering to the fans of the new area he's in.
