Jeff George
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/column...len&id=1883419
An article about how Jeff George is sitting at home waiting to be picked. Also at the bottom of the article it talks about why Taylor didnt start. And a little about Pierce

I betcha he could still throw it if his mouth and his attitude didn't get in the way.
Too much of a risk that he would revert to old form. |

the problem is that he's not a leader, just a good arm... a good arm is nice, but its the smaller half of what being a quarterback is about...

Just like in Any Given Sunday when no one would block or play for Willie Beamen. He didn't have all of the essential qualities of being a quarterback (at the time). It took the seasoned veteran to come in there, the one who related to the people like not many people can (completing the job of the great quarterback), and motivate the players around him. The players were willing to sacrifice their bodies for him and that's what I think makes the absolute difference during gametime.
Bottomline: Jeff has the arm, but no man is willing to sacrifice his body for the sake of an arm.

The guy's ego was just to big. Even the Skins had to toss him for not listening to the coaches. Who would want that headache?

I have never read an article or even heard of one that tries to defend J. George. I have definitely lost some respect for Pasquerelli... Who is he trying to kid? How many teams did George play for...Indy, Atlanta, Oakland, Minnnesota, Washington, and Seattle.
I think he's a well known commodity and his legacy doesn't come down to one or even two incidents. And to think he's still asking, "Why me??" That was a waste of time reading that passage that I will never get back!!! |

Wasn't it George that said the QB doesn't need to be a leader?
That could be one of the reasons he's sitting home. I think teams around the league finally wised up with him and realized he's just a big tease. |

he's bad in the locker room, he's bad with the coaching staff... parcells would eat him and his children within a month.
btw, i heard that dallas seem to think that E. George was a mistake and are trying to trade him... what has the local media said about it down there? (i watched him in the preseason and game 1, and he looked about done) |
