Which Player Would You Take at #13 who doesn't fill a need?
This is more bizarrely hypothetical than the last thread.
Let's say the Skins were forbidden by an agreement in the CBA (or maybe just because Vinny feels like it) that they could not address OL, DE, or LB in the first round of the draft. Those are clearly our three biggest needs, but we have to wait around until the third round at the earliest to begin addressing them. You can propose potential trade backs (or ups) in this thread, but you aren't allowed to suggest a player at one of our three primary needs until the third round at the earliest. So, this is a what would your draft look like thread -- given the above -- with an emphasis on the 13th pick. Have at it. CLARIFICATION: You could say, "Michael Crabtree", but then you would have to explain why he fell or what you gave up to get him higher in the draft.

Peria Jerry to play the 3-technique opposite Haynesworth. That is a bit of an end run since you specified DE, at least we could get a high pick defensive lineman. He has the skills to get after the QB and it would be fun to see him and Haynesworth bring out the very "best" of Eli Manning.
Second choice would be Vontae Davis.

I expressly made DT a legit pick here, because it's essentially a draft the best possible player for future needs pick. A DT like Jerry definitely satisfies, if he's not my top choice in this question, he's in the top three.

I would be a homer and take Heyward-Bey. Although this would make me look like Matt Millen. LOL.

My top four are Malcolm Jenkins, Peria Jerry, Knowshon Moreno, and Heyward-Bey.

I didn't know that the Redskins were allowed to take anyone but Alex Mack.

Peria Jerry- Beanie Wells- Heyward-Bey would be my top 3. Of course after I took Jerry, none of the others would be there in the 3rd. Oh man...... this is going to take some thought. Damn!

Pick Crabtree or Harvin at 13th. In 3rd round, pick Britton, or Loadholt to address OT position. A. Mack would be great but he will likely be gone by 3rd round easily. Perry doesn't impress me all that much. He's decent but not elite enough for a 1st round pick.

An elite WR to help Moss shake double coverage would give us the best weapon threat.

Re: Which Player Would You Take at #13 who doesn't fill a need?
An elite WR would give us the best weapon to be contended with. Portis in the backfield, Cooley at TE, Moss and #13 pick WR at wideouts, then add Randel El, Thomas, Or Kelly in the mix makes for an Arsenal not to be taken lightly.

I would take Beanie Wells at #13.
In the 3rd Round, I would hope to get one of these players: OT Phil Loadholt, DE Robert Ayers, DE Lawrence Sidbury, C Eric Woods, or C Antoine Caldwell. I have a question for those of you who have seen Sidbury play more than I have: Do you think he could play SLB in our system? |
