Wine and Cheese Skins Fans...... awww c'mon!!!
I don't know about You folks, but I have been on the rollercoaster
ride that is known as being a Skins fan for about 35 years.. One thing that I have always held true to My burgundy and gold heart is that My team always embraced the true nature of the DMV: hard nosed, We don't take it from no-one, You want some-bring some, true blue collar attitude. It seems that the newer breed has forgotten the spirit of the old days, when You could be on 50 going past RFK and feel the Earth move from the power of the fierce love of Our team. When there was nothing to do on sunday but watch the game (God had to wait till wednesday), When NO ONE HAD THE BALLS TO FLY BS VISITING TEAM COLORS IN OUR BACKYARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now We constantly see more and more of a catering to the visitors....... niceties if You will............... IT'S CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you come to Our town, You need to know that every soul that bleeds burgundy and gold wants a piece of You!!! No More Wine And Cheese, ASHLAND, FAIRFAX, RESTON, DC METRO, and every Skins fan in the world!!!!!!

Re: Wine and Cheese Skins Fans...... awww c'mon!!!
Alright? I'm planning on going to the Cowboy's game with a Cowboy's fan from work. We talk shit but I'm not planning on ripping his jersey off? Sprint Cup and open car is more like what you're talking about, beer and hotdogs compared to wine and cheese. But most of both crowds are nice to everyone and are generally well behaved.
What do you want us to be like Filth-a-delphia fans? I think more winning seasons would bring back the enthusiasm that you're talking about. I'm the only Stewart fan at the track or so it seems. When he was winning every week everyone was hyped. Now he's doing good everyone wants to jump back on the wagon. That's just how fans are. |

Football is a game. Why would I want a piece of someone just because they like another team? I guess you want the skins to have their version of the "DOG POUND". You do know after the games those guys put on their kacky pants and Izod sweater's, drive home in their Hybrid cars, are greated by their June Cleaver wife and sip tea to relax after the game.

Re: Wine and Cheese Skins Fans...... awww c'mon!!!
Personally, I love the Skins & I love me some wine & cheese!
Actually, I would guess that in the rfk days, tickets were held more by old timers w/money than the common man. Fedex at 90,000+ expanded the ticket sales to a much broader audience. Based on my experience at the 2 stadiums (only once at fedex), fedex is rowdier but more due to drunkeness than football cheering. At RFK it was all about the game. Sure people got drunk but they focused on the game & didn't miss half the 3rd quarter goin to the facilities & concessions. |
