SI's Best & Worst Owners
Imagine that Daniel Snyder thrown under the bus again
'Snyder is a good businessman and spares no expense with one of the most profitable franchises in sports. But maybe that's the problem: The young billionaire runs the team more like a first-time fantasy-football manager. Among the most expensive outlays: nearly $225 million committed to LaVar Arrington, Bruce Smith, Deion Sanders, Lavernues Coles and Adam Archuleta. Not one is still with the team and Washington hasn't come anywhere near the Super Bowl. Think Snyder learned his lesson? This past offseason, he locked up three players -- Albert Haynesworth, DeAngelo Hall and Derrick Dockery -- for a combined $162 million. To make matters worse, he became one of the first owners to charge fans to attend training camp. ' Robert Kraft, Rooney Family rank among NFL's best owners - NFL - SI.com |

Re: SI's Best & Worst Owners
at the time most of those signings made alot of sense. hindsight is always easy to question.
hey the Jets paid how much to get Favre last season? how much did they pay him? and how did they do? i guess their owner is bad Saints gave a entire draft for ricky williams. how did that go? |

Re: SI's Best & Worst Owners
i would rather have Snyder, who will at least try to spend money to win, then someone like Jeff Lurie. always looking for the cheap way out. at least we know our owners are trying

Re: SI's Best & Worst Owners
Dan paid for a all pro DT who was in the MVP talks and ppl want to bash him.
The lions just paid a ROOKIE who has never taken the field similiar money and you dont hear a word.. stop hating because our owner brings in the talent to help us win. many teams wanted big Al and we got him.. get over it haters. if it had been NE or the Gmen it would be the final piece to makin their D the next steel curtain but because its dan he overpaid for a bust DT. |

Yeah the Eagles are always 20 mil under the cap, yet they fail to bring in help for McNabb each yr.. now may be too late. their window was wide open the past few yrs.

Re: SI's Best & Worst Owners
Word. More focused on what they say about him though than the ranking

I just don't get why they're still hammering him for signings that happened almost a decade ago.

Re: SI's Best & Worst Owners
I haven't read the article. I quickly skipped down to write. I would wager that (because its from the media's stand point) DS is somewhere near the bottom because he can't field a winnable team and all the coaching changes.
However they forget that he simply does want to win and will spend whatever or do whatever it takes to field a winning team which is far better then most owners. |
