Question for all New Yorkers

I have to go a meeting in Times Square, (1515 Broadway) Monday afternoon. If it ends at 4:30 how long will it take me to cab my way back to Newark airport? I'm trying to figure out which flight to take back home to DC

Thanks for your help

SS, I used to live in NY (and jersey) and worked in midtown. If I where you, I would take a flight between 6:30 and 7:30.

As we all know, rush hour traffic in NYC is horrendous. Especially going towards Jersey. It would probably take you anywhere from 30 minutes to an 1 hour to get to Newark Airport.

Smoot, I live in New Jersey. I would take the New Jersey Transit Train to Newark Penn Station. Get off at Penn station and catch the path train to Newark Airport. You can get the New Jersey Train at 34th ST and 8th ave. (Beneath Madison Square Garden) I'm on my way to Atlanta for a B-day party. Have a good one!

NJ Transit runs out of Penn Station and goes to newark Airport (some Amtracks stop there as well). The Airport train station hooks directly to the airport monorail to get you to the terminals. It takes about 25 minutes and costs $11.55 one way. I've done it before and it's an easy and quick trip. Cabbing it will be expensive and LONG at that time of day. You may go insane being stuck in a Taxi on skins-cowroids day!

Penn Station is at 33 and 7th ave. Be sure to leave some time to get into Penn and get tickets, find the track, etc. Also, leave some time to get to the gate at Newark. GOOD LUCK!

Here's a link to the NJ transit schedule:

Thanks, this would have worked out perfectly if not for a fire that caused a power failure that shut down the train service Monday afternoon. But I know this for next time!
