Put your chips in... Winners and Losers.

Lull before the season. I'm interested in popular opinion before the preseason media gets hold of the popular mind.... Who will be winners, losers? Up and comers,(players), and teams on the rise? Losers and total busts?

Had this discussion w/ a pal @ work Friday. He's convinced the top teams will be Carolina/New Orleans and Tenn/NE with the Pats taking it all. I just don't see it. NE defense will not even be top 5 this year and Brady's injury isn't one shake of in an off-season.

But I do think NO could be very, very good. Will not be surprised to see them go to the SB. In the AFC i won't be surprised if the Dolphins are the big surprise...personally I hope they own the Pats on both games

Thanks Goat, I didn't want to start this with my opinion...
Saints- nfc south
Cardinals- nfc west
Bears- nfc north
REDSKINS- nfc east

Texans- afc south
oakland- afc west
miami- afc east
baltimore- afc north

I want to tell you all the Skins are going to do it but... THE SAINTS are going to win it all! Cheers, Goat!

Re: Put your chips in... Wiiners and Losers.

I think it will go as follows:

NFC
East- Philly
North- Minnesota
South- Carolina
West- Arizona

Wild Cards- Redskins, Falcons

AFC
East- NE
North- Baltimore
South- Tennessee
West- San Diego

Wild Cards- Pittsburgh, Houston

I honestly see the Giants and Cowboys struggling, and I'm not just saying that because I'm a Skins fan. I also see the Colts missing the playoffs as well. I think Baltimore kicks it up a notch while the Steelers regress a bit. I think Philly is going to be really good, and I see the Skins edging out the Bears and Saints for the last spot in the NFC playoff picture. I also think the Jets will be the last team out in the AFC, with Houston narrowly grabbing the last playoff spot.

I pretty much agree with all of these. I still see Pittsburgh winning the North and I'm not so high on the Panthers this year, but other than that we see things the same way.

Indianapolis is falling apart. Tennessee Has a good chance to dominate the division, but, I'm feeling the Texans. Still going out on a limb,But ... Saints offense and coupled with Grilliams' D...

I have been putting off making this call, but now it's time.

I predict we go all the way this year.

Re: Put your chips in... Wiiners and Losers.

I'm not going to put a win total on any of these yet because I don't want to jump the gun on making my official, and exclusive predictions. But I'm confident enough to give you guys a playoff field.

AFC Seed 1: New England Patriots
AFC Seed 2: Baltimore Ravens
AFC Seed 3: Houston Texans
AFC Seed 4: San Diego Chargers

AFC Seed 5: Pittsburgh Steelers
AFC Seed 6: Cincinnati Bengals

NFC Seed 1: Arizona Cardinals
NFC Seed 2: Philadelphia Eagles
NFC Seed 3: New Orleans Saints
NFC Seed 4: Green Bay Packers

NFC Seed 5: Washington Redskins
NFC Seed 6: New York Giants

AFC Championship: Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens
NFC Championship: Washington Redskins at Philadelphia Eagles

Super Bowl XLIV: I dunno, flip a coin or something.

Re: Put your chips in... Wiiners and Losers.

Saints probably have their best chance to win it all in recent memory, but I have to say, that's a tough field for them that will likely include 2-3 teams from the NFC East once they make it. It's difficult to see them getting as far as 2006, even though their team is better then it was.

LOL, no joke, just going out on a limb. I think whoever goes 9-7 in the afc west wins the division.
