the only thing i disagree with is his assesment that the replay official (for the redskins) cost us the game. in gibbs press conference he said the official only said it was a reviewable play and that he did not have a view of the play. also in the first two games (the first especially) everybody was complaining that gibbs was not taking a chance on replays that could be game turners and now that he is were complaining that he did. we cant have it both ways. personally i would rather take a chance at wasting a challenge and a timeout than find out later that it was not a touchdown and we didnt want to take that chance.

oh and to add one more thing to my previous post im sure if the officials called timeout and gave gibbs 10 minutes to look at six different angles im sure he would not have challenged that but unfortunately that is not the case you only have a matter of seconds and sometimes you have to roll the dice

If we have hired a former replay official to determine when to challenge then that guy sucks. It's just another nuance that Gibbs will have to adjust to. As for clock management, Gibbs is going to have to speed things up. We continually got up to the line with under 10 seconds on the play clock. That will get corrected, I think this offense will really hit its stride just before the bye week.
Good article. But most of the games we play against Dallas we outplay them. For good reason, we've been better than them, but they get big plays when they need them. If we keep plugging away, they'll come for us too and once we start getting big plays then we'll start winning these games. |

Yeah Gibbs said he challenged the Glenn TD, it wasn't from Hill upstairs. Gibbs also seems pretty content with that decision.

Gibbs also successfully challenged the supposed cowboy INT in the first quarter, so it wasn't all bad. The killer was burning the two TOs because we couldn't get into the correct formations. That has to stop.

If you look at that replay you will see the WR right hand (fingers and thum) move. thats why I think Gibbs made the call. Visual edvidance wasn't there to turn the call or not enuff of it, but if Gibbs wouldn't of challaged that I bet we would have been complaning about that?

I don't think I would have complained because I knew we had only one timeout left. There was plenty of time on the clock and anyone could see that Glenn caught the ball and got three footsteps in bounds. If we had more than one timeout remaining I could understand the challenge.

Gibbs couldn't see it, but it was close, it was a huge play in the game, and the guy up in the booth didn't have a replay yet. Gibbs made a snap descision and and threw the flag before the extra point. He said in his press conference that he didn't want to be sitting here today having not called it if the guy was out. Given the imporatance of that play in the game, I think it was justified. But it went against us, and Gibbs explicitly took the blame. Enough said. On to the next one.

During TO's fumbled catch for a touchdown in week 2, I heard that each team's replay offical is actually watching what the people at home are watching. I think that is just ridiculous. They need to get Tivo or something.
