You Got Training Camp Questions? Slingin Sammy's Got the Answers
Slingin Sammy 33 is headed to training camp this Wednesday and he's volunteered to take your questions while there and try to answer them.
Basically, instead of asking "Hey how did so and so do?" after someone gets back from training camp this is your chance to say "Can you see how so and so does?" So here's the deal post all your questions about particular players, schemes, coaches, concession stands, whatever and when SS33 comes back from training camp on Wednesday he'll start a new thread with his answers. He'll start the thread but I know others may be attending and can help answer questions as well. Ok, I'll start. Two questions: 1. What is the interaction of the position coaches (particularly Hixon) with the players? 2. How does Robert Thomas look out there?

Re: You Got Training Camp Questions? Slingin' Sammy's Got the Answers
I like this. I'll play.
1) I'd love a scouting report on the O-line (specifically Jeremy Bridges- haven't heard his name yet). I'm hearing mixed reports, some basically saying they look awful, others saying the D-line looks fantastic and is always further along at this point so no reason for concern, etc etc. 2) How is Kevin Barnes playing in comparison to Smoot?

Re: You Got Training Camp Questions? Slingin Sammy's Got the Answers
I am really interested if you can get pictures or just give a rundown of the newest rookie's physical body type. That would be #76 Jeremy Jarmon.
I imagine he is not very big in the arms for example compared to some of the freaks on the dline, but I just wanted to know if he physically looks like an NFL player or not? Cool thread! Last edited by wilsowilso; 08-03-2009 at 10:58 PM. |

i'm interrested in how rocky mcintosh is looking, he needs to step his game up this season. if he can step it up, the skins could have one of the best linebacker trios in the league.

Can the defensive back unit perform better without Springs? What is the likelihood that we'll see the defense lineup in a 3-4 defense now and then?

Does Orakpo look like he's already the best guy out there at SAM? And how do Fincher/Blades/Thomas/Wilson/McIntosh look in comparison? Who looks like they're gonna be the guy on third down, does McIntosh have it locked up along with Fletcher?

Who looking sharper, Suisham or Rayner? Who's looking like a special team beast(s) to replace Thrash and Campbell? What's the kick off return look like now that there's no wedge? What your favorite pie again?

Re: You Got Training Camp Questions? Slingin Sammy's Got the Answers
How is Campbell's read, react, release? Does he still hold the ball till there is an open reciever, or does he let it fly in anticipation of an open receiver with what he is reading? How does this compare to the other QB's read reaction time? Is Campbell still dumping off short passes to Cooley and ARE underneath, or is he looking down field for longer passes regularly? Are recievers getting open for/catching the longer routes/passes?
Great idea for a thread guys, can't wait to read your posts!

Re: You Got Training Camp Questions? Slingin Sammy's Got the Answers
I would like to know what player(s) the coaches are getting on the most.
I would also like to know who is the biggest jokester on the team. Also, you can probably tell pretty quick which players don't even belong. Maybe you could predict the first round of cuts? Thanks SS33. |
