vaguntrader.com

Hey I wanted to let anyone who is a Virginia resident know about a newish website called vaguntrader.com. Ive used it a couple times now to buy some guns and it is really sweet. It fills the void that craigslist flag nazi's put forth. I like it because it really makes things easier and takes the FFL out of the picture. You are not going to score any crucial deals through the website but you cut out the process of going through the background check, paying taxes and letting Aunt Samantha know what you own.

Note that this is for VA residents and someone from out of state attempting to buy a gun from a VA resident is breaking the law and will get in a lot of trouble if caught.

Fortunitly pretty much everyone on there does not play around and will not even enteertain the idea of selling out of state. I would suspect many would contact the police if a out-of-stater aggressively tries to buy a gun from them. I know i would.

Re: vaguntrader.com

How do they get around the background check? I live in Va. and I'm pro gun but I think anyone wanting to purchase a gun should have to have a back ground check.

Re: vaguntrader.com

In VA and a lot of other states you can sell and trade your personal firearms to residents of your state without putting them through the background check. So I could sell you my gun or you could sell me yours or we could trade. A private citizen doesnt have the ability to do background checks on people interested in their firearms. It would be the same thing if i wanted to give you my gun as a gift or leave it for inheritance. This is only for private citizens and not firearms dealers.

As a seller it is your responsibility to sell only to a VA resident and also only to sell to a person who can legally own a gun. So make sure they are 21 if its a handgun and dont sell to someone you have any reason to believe is a felon or addicted to drugs. Obviously its a good idea to do a bill of sale, and have them state in it that they are not a felon. Ive dealt with 3 different people and they were all top notch.

Ive also heard that the ATF is doing setups on people now. So you may get someone from MD trying to buy you gun and giving you a few hundred dollars more than asking price. Its probably a setup.

I've been looking for a AR-10 / (.308). No one seems to have one. Have you seen any?

Ok, when I asked the question I had not gone to the site and thought it was more of one person selling guns and it now makes sense. Background checks could be done for private sales and I feel they should be. They could issue the buyer some type of certificate after the background check and all buyers must have one to purchase a gun. I wouldn't have a problem if the cert. was good for maybe a period of time like a year or so.

I am about as liberal as it gets on gun control, but i actually like that idea. The only problem is that for poor people or people that dontuse the internet (elderly, poor, religious reasons) its not fair to put them through that. I guess if you also made the option that you could go to your police/fire station or a library and get a free check then that would be okay. My thing is that something protected by the Bill of Rights shouldn’t be very inconvenient to do/obtain.

You should start a website that does that, just for peace of mind purposes for sellers right now, but then push VA to make it legislation and then sell the website to VA or other states. Kind of like Gore with the Chicago Climate Exchange and global warming.

I havent seen any AR10's. I have seen a few Saiga 308s, which i kind of want to get but they are expensive as shit right now, honestly how did they get over 500? I really want to get a Saiga 12, but they too are expensive. I bought a nice sks from a guy out by you who also had a pretty good condition M14. I think he wanted 1200, which is out of my league, but it was in pretty good cond.

First off I don't want people getting these things over the internet it has to be done with ID in person. It would not be that hard to come up with places like the library, post office, police station, gun stores, etc... If I'm correct Va. already has an instant back ground check for gun dealers so they do have some system in place. I just strikes me that a person can look in the papper find just about any gun go buy it without any type of check and this goes on at gun shows also.

Re: vaguntrader.com

I'm liberal (duh) but I gotta admit, I had some of the best times of my life at the gun range shooting some pretty kickass guns.

I shot an SKS Carbine.. Lemme tell you.. For a chick and being only 5'2.. that gun's kickback hurts.

There was one gun I shot though.. had a pretty awesome scope on it, you could change the options of the scope (to make it a dot, target, etc) and it was big but there was almost NO kickback which was surprising for it's weight and size. Man I want that gun. Wish I could remember the name of it..

Here is another sweet website with really good deals. They are a FFL and will only ship to FFLs.
