Carlos Rogers calls out ownership (PFT)

Got a like a guy who calls it likes he sees it...and that probably isn't interested in a new contract with the Skins.

read the same thing in the wash. post, but unlike PFT, they didn't isolate the quote & try to make it sound like he 'called out ownership.' He said it, but it was one of those comments about how everyone is to blame.

Yeah he just basically said the blame starts at the top and goes all the way down. I didn't take it as a call out necessarily, he was just stating the obvious. As for him not interested in staying I'm sure the feeling is mutual.

Not surprising, but different hearing that kind of comment coming from someone on the inside. With Carlos, his contract status may have something to do with it. He's on the last year of his rookie deal and may be looking to move on, hence he feels that any comment he makes cannot be but so detrimental to him.

I've been impressed w/Rogers this year. He's played well & after the losses he's seemed very frustrated & unhappy, like his heart is more in it than in the past.

I feel bad for the guy; he has trouble making plays on the ball, not just catching it, sometimes he gets beat when he's in good position. He made a great play on S. Smith on sunday though in the end zone.

that's impressive...for a player to publicly put at least some of the onus on on the owner takes guts and for what it's worth I'm glad someone has done it.

I just hope we can franchise / trade him so he doesn't walk for "nothing." A 3rd round comp pick in 2011 just isnt going to cut it... why are there so many hard feelings between rogers and the management/ownership again? i know it seems they've been down on him for several years now.

I never knew their was hard feelings between him and the FO? He made a general comment which just about anyone who follows the team knows. Its true with any business not just football its starts at the top. Some at the top will say they made mistakes some won't but they know it starts at the top.

I've never heard of anything, just his demotion last year to Hall. Blache was maybe down on him some. He's stepped up this year though.

anyone ever track how many dropped interceptions he has made over the years? (note- I like Rogers as a corner but I am curious).

An average of about four a year. (17 career, does not include playoff games). Although my 2005 and 2006 information is very unofficial, so results from those years may vary.

I have no numbers on the league average corner, but I don't think it would be unreasonable to say that a corner who has average hands and plays 16 games drops about 2 INTs a year.

well i remember the past two years, there have been talks of trading him in the offseason. it just seems theres no love lost between he and coaches/management/ownership. This past week Rogers also indicated he plans to be elsewhere next year, although he acknowledged the skins could keep him here by tagging him.

I think most young players on the roster who are more interested in winning than securing a big pay day would love nothing more than to get the hell out of washington as soon as possible, and i can't blame them. this franchise is an absolute mess. I hate to say this as I may just be overly frustrated right now, but if, after the season, the panthers hire shottenhiemer as GM and Cowher as HC, while snyder retains cerrato and hires another puppet HC, i'm going to be tempted to switch my loyalties to my home-state team. i'd always have a soft-spot for the skins, but the franchise is being dragged into the ground by a lunatic owner who, despite what he may say, cares more about money than he does about winning. I know i'm just one person, but until snyder starts feeling hurt in his wallet, i dont think he'll ever change.

Re: Carlos Rogers calls out ownership (PFT)

It seems like almost every time they show a clip of him on Comcast that he's been making little comments like this throughout the year. I chalk it up to frustration with the entire organization, but specifically with the offense for not putting up more points.
