I'm glad we finally won, but I won't get excited about the chances of this team until Brunell is benched. He has no arm to go deep, and even the short ones are sometimes off. Perhaps Gibbs needs new eyeglasses?

there is a lot to be said for consistency though. what happens if ramsey comes in and throws five pciks and we get crushed, then what do we do. alteast brunell has taking all the snaps in practice and is learning a new system like everyone else. it takes time to develop a relationship with your receiver, i just hope those relationshps start to develop soon.

I think that's a big part of why Gibbs has stunk-- err, stuck-- with Brunell. He doesn't want to risk benching Brunell (killing Brunell's confidence, and the team's confidence in him), if there's a chance the team will still lose with Ramsey in there.

That said, Brunell has been taking the vast majority of snaps in practice, so Gibbs hasn't seen much of Ramsey in practice. It's hard for him to know if Ramsey has a practical grasp of the offense if he only sees Ramsey getting 3 or 4 reps-- if that-- during full squad drills in practice. Brunell refuses to sit with his injuries, and Gibbs refuses to bench him, so Ramsey continues to bide his time, patiently waiting for his opportununity, and in the meantime, doing everything he can to learn the offense and help out the other players and coaches.

I hope Brunell turns it around over the bye week, because I don't think Gibbs will make the quarterback switch voluntarily, and I certainly wouldn't root for Brunell to get injured, simply so that Ramsey can come in. I have very little confidence that Brunell is capable of suddenly becoming an effective quarterback in this offense, but I truly hope he does.

You know, Joe, you can just delete words if you type the wrong one.

Oh, wait. I get it.

By the way, Joe. You are 1-0 in my seats, I'm 0-2. It may be time for a change.

Coles was wide open with no one between him and the parking lot and Brunell couldn't get it to him.

Well put. However, one of the arguments the Redskins gave for trading for Brunell so early in the offseason was so that he'd have several months before it counted to get acclimated (sp?) with his receivers. These extra months don't seem to have paid off
