Rumor: Panthers Could Trade RB Williams!!! What Is He Worth?
DeAngelo Williams Final Days as Carolina Panther?
First of all, I believe we should stockpile draft picks I'm not at all saying we should trade for Williams just simply what is he worth base on his production? Schefter also reported this on ESPN.com but I don't have ESPN Insider. |

a low first rounder a high second, but since RB come a dime a dozen, I wouldn't trade now more than a mid-second for him..... cause there be studs coming out of college we can get in the second........ J. Best from Cali, I like him as a game changer

I like him, but 27 the start of next season...2nd round may get him, but Id say keep it draft a younger guy.

Maybe M. Kelly and a 4th rd pick in 2011 ? Not that I think they take that ... or Betts and Kelly ?

To be honest, 90% of the running backs in this league aren't worth trading for. Too easy to replace and don't hold up long enough.

Carlos Rogers and a 2nd round pick? How ironic would it be if Shanahan comes in and we trade a CB and a pick for another team's franchise.
Seriously, I wouldn't mind Williams but I'd rather not trade any picks for him.

I would say a 2nd RD, I heard they were about to clean house.... Peppers, Williams and even S.Smith may all be dealt..

There's only 2 RB's I would even want to trade for (A.D) and C.Johnson

He's probably worth a 2nd rounder....but not ours.

Re: Rumor: Panthers Could Trade RB Williams!!! What Is He Worth?
I wouldn't trade a 1st for Jim Brown in his prime. RBs are too easy to plug and play. A good line and decent RB = 1300 yards and 15 TDs. A good RB and a decent line = 1300yards and 15 TDs. The problem is it is about 1/5 as easy to put together a decent RB since you don't have to actually assemble one. A line on the other hand takes 5 guys. And I haven't even brought up that there are a ton of decent backs in the league and available in the draft every year. The main distinction between a great deal of them is the ability to simply stay healthy for a 5 year period.
