Re: Huge iceberg breaks off Antarctica

Antarctica was mapped by ancient men without the layer of ice. Don't believe the hype.

Re: Huge iceberg breaks off Antarctica

these ice bergs breakin off not only cause problems with the current of the ocean (which effects everything) but whole populations/species of penguins, etc end up dying because their generations old migration routes are all screwed up and they are left isolated and starving.

i watched a show where a biologist type guy would visit these same type of penguins every year during teh time when the weather would allow.every year, when he would get there the thousands of penguins would be grazing on a certain shore.

one year he heard about major ice bergs breaking off, i think an earthquake as well. when he went back there where no penguins on a shore where there should have been thousands. he goes inland to find them, finds that the landscape had changed, found hundreds of dead or dying penguins trapped half way thru their migration route.

he did not intervene, a whole species of penguin who had lived there for as long as time where wiped off the planet due to climate changes.

I really just thought it was fascinating to see an iceberg that huge break off... but yeah I'm anticipating the armchair scientists to throw down any second.

Al Gore broke it off to support his myth of global warming.

very interesting . This planet is one powerful rock , very unpredictable . I have no knowledge of man causing the changes or not ? The planet however has been warming for thousands of years , as much of the US was under ice at one point in time Last glacial period - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia . I hope we never see prolonged freezing cold weather .... Im done with winter Laurentide ice sheet - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Re: Huge iceberg breaks off Antarctica

I wasn't trying to shit on you Matty. Everything these days seems to be a play on people's fears. It's a perpetual State Of Fear.

What I meant to say is, I'm not going to live in fear or listen to the yellow journalism that comes from corporate news agencies. The Earth is always changing and there's always some baby Hitler getting ready to jump out from the bushes. The economy will collapse if you don't give Wall Street a bailout. And the Road Goes On Forever. I'm not buying it.
