Notes from Shanahan interview at owners' meeting
liked what he saw from Tebow, will look at top 4 QB's in person
comments on Tebow: Quote:
OT change is good, cool with it applying to regular season wants Portis to report somewhere around 210 as opposed to the 220'ish that he was last year Rick Maese (RickMaese) on Twitter |

Re: Notes from Shanahan interview at owners' meeting
I hope Mike Shanahan knows what he's doing. The draft isn't a sure thing, but some of his picks make you wonder if he's trying to prove he's a genius. Like Maurice Clarett. If he likes Tebow, I hope it's for some actual real rational reasons.

I don't see taking someone like Clarett as MS trying to prove he's a genius as much as he's just not afraid to roll the dice sometimes.

Re: Notes from Shanahan interview at owners' meeting
yeah & he had picks to roll the dice with. That's not the case here w/only 5 picks in his first draft. I would think he plays it safe for the most part w/the #4 pick, but he won't be scared to take TEbow if he wants in the 2nd.

I don't think anybody should be afraid to take him in round 2. Hell I'm not convinced someone won't roll the dice on him late in the 1st.

Re: Notes from Shanahan interview at owners' meeting
There's some things to be concerned with drafting Tebow, but character and effort will not be issues.

I don't think the interest in Tebow is legit...but I guess stranger things have happened

Re: Notes from Shanahan interview at owners' meeting
It can't be. He simply has too many holes to warrant a 2nd round draft pick. It's the media hyping this guy up cause he changed his throwing motion. Big deal. He's in a t-shirt tossing the ball around. I really hope we're not looking at taking this guy. Let someone else fall for this nonsense.

Could be just building value for our second round pick, but Mattyk is not the first to say that he might not make it out of the first. I think it was Gil Brandt, at least it was somone on Siriur NFL Radio that does know alot more about football than I.

Re: Notes from Shanahan interview at owners' meeting
Unless you are of the belief that Shanny like Campbell long term then there is no way a Tebow pick makes sense. He is more likely looking for a QB that can get on the field sooner.

Re: Notes from Shanahan interview at owners' meeting
He has a shortened motion. Many guys that come into the league have their motions tweaked in order to quicken their release. Honestly I think the whole thing about his motion has been overblown.

Re: Notes from Shanahan interview at owners' meeting
If MS thinks Tebow can be an elite QB i'm ok w/ using a 2nd on him. It's all smoke and mirrors right now though. Teams are going to generally say what is in the best interest for them to say.
Do you think St Louis should come out and say they don't have any interest in Sam Bradford? No, it's in their best interest to speak highly of SB (and they may be interested) and a team might jump up and make them a quality offer for the #1 overall. |
