A QB change is coming
Call it a hunch of mine, but I think a change could be coming very soon.
Maybe this week. |

Damn Matty, I thought you heard something or had an article attached. I almost had an accident here at work man. But I feel ya. If 3 pass attempts in the 2nd half doesn't tell ya anything then I don't what else would. We'll see...... Do we have a praying smilie? |

I can't remember who brought it up. I think it was SUNRA, but if a change is coming it has to be now otherwise it probably won't be until early December at the earliest

No inside info here , but there is a bit of a buzz on the internet today, and judging by some of the things Gibbs said in his postgame press conference yesterday I'm just getting the feeling a change could be coming.
The defense has been outstanding all season and now the special teams is stepping up, with a 3-5 record the team is still in it and could make a strong second half of the season push, but the offense needs a serious kick in the ass. Brunell isn't getting any better, I think now is the time to roll the dice and see what Ramsey can do. |

I can't see it happening. The way Gibbs ahs stuck by Brunell this whole time and finally we win a game and he's going to pull the plug now? Doesn't seem like a Gibbs move. Seems like it would upset the morale of the team to abandon Brunell after a win. One theory I have held lurking in my mind was that Gibbs kept thinking Brunell was gonna get injured finally and he could drop ramsey in without worrying about team morale. Gibbs doesn't come across as a guy with such nefarious and devious ways but maybe his desire to keep the team in the fold without totaly blowing the whole situation up made him hope he didn't have to do anything controversial. Sounds crazier the more I think about it...

I was thinking the same thing in an earlier post in another thread, listening to his press confrence he didn't have a lot of excuses for Brunell this time around, I think he's finally coming to the conclusion that Brunell is the problem.

the skins won, but brunell lost IMO
the change is prolly what the players want and many of the coaches. they know its gonna be very very hard to get wins with under 100 yards passing on numerous occations throughout the season. Boy itd be nice to see a WR hit in stride on any pattern sometime this season. |

On the comcast post game 1 commentator made a very good point, you don't change a QB who play's well and loses, and you don't keep a QB who play's bad but win's. Word's of wisdom to live bye. :cheeky-sm

IMO we absolutly dominated this game. Our running game was as strong as we have ahd in years. Our recievers were open. Our special teams were actually special. Our protection was decent(although Brunell did get roughed up a little in the first half). Our defense just decimated the Lions and we still almost lost. At some point when everything adds up to win and we still lose you have to look at what one thing is not HELPING you win. It is obvious to me finally that Brunell needs to sit. I have held out on this decision for weeks as everyone else bitched and moaned about him. I kept thinking "well gibbs is the man and he knows better than any of us" but that fact that we won this weekend actually proved to me that he is the problem since it is obvious this team hah been doing things capable of winning. I fully expect us to suck once Ramsey gets in there But I think there is at least a chnace that things get better and we end up 8-8 or 9-7. I am utterly convinced that Brunell in there we can't win more than 2 or 3 more games.

I agree with not benching Brunell. Gibbs will probably use this win to motivate his starting QB & hopefully kick this offense in the ass!!
If the Skins lose the next 2 out of 3, I could definitely see Ramsey coming off the bench.

Drops aside, Brunell still had a horrid game. Even with the legitimate drops (Gardner and Betts on the sideline, Bly knocked the ball away from Coles across the middle) you can only tack on about 30 yards. The fact that Gibbs only threw the ball 3 times in the 2nd half is an obvious indictment of the QB position. |
