Re: Food, Inc.
if you like food inc., there are a few really good books you can read too. fast food nation and the omnivore's dilemma immediately come to mind. fascinating stuff.

I read fast food nation when i was in college. It was a good read. I was never so jaded towards the obesity/fast food problem America has until i read that book....

Re: Food, Inc.
Repost, I have talk about it before in the movie thread. Dagger! Anyways since watching the film, probably six months ago we basically shop mainly organic in my house. Especially meats and eggs! And now that summer/spring has rolled around we hit up our local farmers market for veggies. I will have to say I have honestly felt better since making the switch and my family members say the same as well. It is a little more expensive to eat this way but in the long run if you figuring the quailty of your life and health it is a no brainier. It is a great doc and they speak more to the quality of our food vs. shock images of animals being slaughtered in gross ways.

This movie really is not about that, it looks at the quality of our food, not so much our eating habits.

Re: Food, Inc.
I watched some of it, not the entire movie.
It felt like a Michael Moore conspiracy movie to me. I'm not so sure that the examples used are necessarily the standard and as widespread as the movie claims. Seemed like it was more of a one-sided agenda-pusher as opposed to an accurate documentary. I'm not naive to think some of it is untrue, I know there are some bad practices...but it seems to try to incriminate all farmers and food providers, most of who don't do these things.

Re: Food, Inc.
have you read fast food nation? the title isnt misleading, more like incomplete. it has plenty of commentary on the way our food makes it to the table, not necessarily just fast food.

Yes I have read it and to me Food,Inc had a more powerful effect on my eating habits or what I eat then Fast Food Nation but both are good sources of information.
