Never been a fan of this guy, but a damn tough competitor. Hope it turns out to be nothing

Re: Possible Seizure Sends Shockey to Hospital
As an epileptic (even though I haven't had a major seizure in about 9 years) I really hope it's not true. Even though I think Shockey is a jackass I wouldn't wish seizures on anybody. The two major seizures I have had were probably the two scariest moments of my life and if he does get diagnosed with epilepsy I wouldn't be suprised if he calls it quits. That's why my doc advised me against getting a physical so I could try out for football in 9th grade, because epilepsy and football just don't mix.

That's terrible. I wish he doesn't have that issue.

Re: Possible Seizure Sends Shockey to Hospital
I had a seizure back in 08. Apparently it was from a mix of Wellbutrin and provigil along with sitting in front of a 60 inch flat screen. I remember coming to at my friends house and thinking I was in the middle of a dream where I was fighting my friends Dad. Truth was he was making sure I stayed on the ground and got some air (he's a doctor).
The thing with seizures is that most states take your licence away for at least 6 months, some are as long as a year. I was extremely lucky to be in school when it happened rather then being employed in the real world. For a while I had a hard time watching HD TV without getting dizzy. I also use my adderrall for ADD on as needed basis and never take more then 5mg.

Re: Possible Seizure Sends Shockey to Hospital
Yeah, pretty weird. I'd say there are several possibilities:
1) He was dehydrated from working out. Just got dizzy/lightheaded for a second, and it looked like a seizure. Happens a lot. 2) See #1, that's most likely. 3) Drugs. Always a possibility - had some cocaine/etc on board. (see below article). 4) Alcohol withdrawal seizure. Doubt it, but still. 5) A real seizure disorder from being bashed in the head too many times. Unlikely but possible. Here's one description of the episode below. After a typical real seizure, you're confused for about 30 minutes, and sometimes bite your tongue/etc. After this one, he was apparently walking around within a minute. Quote:
And this was another episode from 2009 (although back then it was probably partying too hard): Quote:

I'd bet with him it's more likely substances or overworking (was in weight room) rather than epilepsy.
