Redskins vs. Packers - POSITIVES!!

We got the "W" against a very good team. Share the positives from this game, here are mine...

- Laron Landry was a beast and should have silenced his critics
- Armstrong is developing into a solid #2 WR
- Cooley was HUGE and clutch today
- Orakpo drew many holds and had two big sacks
- Banks is a threat and kept the GB special teams on their toes
- Hunter the F*cking Punter!!!

Re: Redskins vs. Packers - POSITIVES!!

1. Haslett...the scheme is coming together. Excellent game plan. Holding Packers to 13 is an incredible feat.
2. McNabb. I hate to bring his name up..JC..could have never lifted a team on his shoulders and carried them. McNabb did today no doubt. The oline had a hard time today, McNabb won this game.
3. Armstrong slowly being that 2nd option. All the Moss haters can suck it, Moss was awesome today
4.Laron is the man in this scheme, all the Laron haters can suck it
5. Carlos and D Hall once again............Greg Jennings and D. Driver were basically silenced today. I want to see Carlos with a new contract. All the D Hall and Carlos haters can suck it

Re: Redskins vs. Packers - POSITIVES!!

Pretty much agree with everything said above.

Also:

Even though McNabb looked gimpy like the announcers said, he still made plays.
Receivers steppin up! I was gonna say Moss and Armstrong but Galloway made plays when it counted to, and Cooley did his thing like he always does. I'm gonna start calling Cooley Captain Consistency because 9 out of 10 times he makes plays.

Defense gettin off the field on 3rd downs! That was huge for us, and a sub-bullet for this would be drive-killing sacks at timely moments.

Hunter the Punter doin his thing: Aka nice punts, and solid holds on field goals. Like he didn't miss a beat.

Banks did his thing too, even though our punt return team really needs to stop blocking in the back.

Orakpo and Landry deserve their names mentioned too. Easily our top two players on defense this season.

Re: Redskins vs. Packers - POSITIVES!!

Also before I forget, the one thing that can't be measured by stats: Resiliency. Down by 10, outplayed in the first half, this team easily could've just stopped trying and let the Packers widen the margin in the second half, and instead they kept battling, got the points on the board, and came back and managed to win it in overtime. As has been said we easily would've lost this game last year but you can tell this is a new regime and there's no quit in this team.

Re: Redskins vs. Packers - POSITIVES!!

I got to watch one of our best games in recent memory.

The defense. Rak. Actually all the LBs played very well. Zo.

Andre Carter did he move back to and End? It seemed as though he was playing Dline most of the Day.

Haslett. Just held one of the best Qbs in football to an average day and a loss.

Like Mooby said, the team in general by not giving up.

Mcnabb. damn what a gutsy performance by him, beat up all first half, then lead the team in a huge fourth quarter and into Overtime.

This was big as far as our confidence goes. So by my count we have beaten 2 of the so called NFC superbowl contenders in 5 weeks.

How did we lose to the Rams?

Re: Redskins vs. Packers - POSITIVES!!

There are many and they are being nicely detailed.
On a global level, this team is finding a way to win. If this was last year, we're likely 0-5. McNabb has his demons but the protection sucked due to injuries and he still made plays. McNabb stretched plays. DM played hurt. He did what he had to to win.
The Defense, though porous made it happen when they had to. HUGE takeaways and stops when we had to have them.
Even though is has not been pretty, we have now beat two "Super Bowl" darlings and the third is coming in this week.
Teams with HEART find a way to...get it done
