Imports vs Domestics Event

Anyone heading out to Maryland International Raceway for the World Cup Finals / Imports vs Domestics event?

For those of you who don't know what it is. It's a drag racing event held in Budds Creek, Maryland, at Maryland International Raceway. Just as the title says it's Imports vs Domestics. The actually event is called World Cup Finals, but most racers who have been taking part of it for years call is World War III.

Cars are coming from all over the country and world. The entire east coast, Texas, Canada, Puerto Rico, etc.

Anyways, it's a great event, it's sponsored by the United States Army. All types of cars, old school new school, different racing classes, from the fast 6 second cars to the slower 16 second cars.

It's a two day event, held November 6th and 7th. 6th is for qualifying and the 7th is for eliminations, so if you want to just watch show up the 7th. Obviously it's perfect timing due to it being held on our bye week, last year I missed the Falcons game because of it, luckily it was an away game.

Burnout and bikini contest as well!

There will be extremely fast Imports and Domestics there!

For more information on the even check out the website: ..::* World Cup Finals (Import vs. Domestic)* @* Maryland Int'l Raceway ::..

Videos I took last year:

Correct me if I'm wrong but this thread is about THE Redneck Super Bowl event of the year right?

I TELL you...from experience it is an....interesting day. You got your Swamp Dance (Saturday night) before the finals. You got your Swamp Queen who gets tossed on the track (6 feet of muddy water) after the finals. Swampy the alligator. It is a Good Ol' boy...fest. Everybody should go once as the machines are....kinda' cool.
BUT, it is the hallmark in sophistication when compared with........
Florida's largest mudding track with trails and camping – Redneck Yacht Club.

Re: Imports vs Domestics Event

Looks fun, though I think the Excursion would just sink in that.
