Congrats to the Texas Rangers
Its Been a long time for this long suffering franchise.Congrats to them for making the World Series.I grew up a Senators fan, anybody remember them? Well they moved to Texas and became the Rangers, and theyve sucked for a long time,so I think its great theyve finally made it.

Re: Congrats to the Texas Rangers
Absolutely. A $206M flop. Man their bats really let them down. Awesome to see that postseason bum A-roid as the last out too. How perfect.

Re: Congrats to the Texas Rangers
yeah,Ive kinda got mixed feelings.I have no love for the Yankees, but living in Houston I still pull for Lance Berkman and Roy Oswalt, but someones got to lose.I would have liked to seen one of them get a ring, and Roy still has a chance, but if I had to make a choice it would be the Rangers

Re: Congrats to the Texas Rangers
Yeah everybody except Yankees fans are glad to see them go down.
Honestly how unbelievable would be it to see a Rangers-Giants Fall Classic? Going into the CS, I thought we would be in for another Yankees-Phillies series, which I wouldn't like because I don't like either team, but if the Giants win tomorrow it will be a Rangers-Giants series, which is great because the Rangers have never been and nobody thought the Giants would beat the Phillies. |

Re: Congrats to the Texas Rangers
I've been a rangers fan since the 80's when they had guys like Julio Franco, Ruben Sierra, and Rafael Palmeiro -roids. It hasn't always been easy, (Just like being a skins fan) but watching them this year has been the most enjoyable. This is by far one of the best group of players I've ever seen, not just talent but character.

Re: Congrats to the Texas Rangers
As long as neither the Yankees or Red Sox win the World Series, I consider it a successful baseball season. I feel like I'm totally generalizing, but lately it seems like fans of both teams are more concerned with hating each other than watching the live product.
Go Nationals next year!

Re: Congrats to the Texas Rangers
I've been a long-suffering Rangers fan since I was a little kid. I picked them once I learned from my dad that they used to be the Washington Senators. When the Nats came to town I tried claiming them as my team but I never could let the Rangers go. I was/am a huge Nolan Ryan fan even before he played for the Rangers. Watching him hoist that ALCS trophy up last night was just awesome. Now I know how Chris Mathews felt...

I say since the 2008 season the Phillies have taken over the Sox in that regard. I was glad to see them lose last night, so glad!

Re: Congrats to the Texas Rangers
Did anyone else see the bottom of the 8th inning in last night's game? That entire inning turned on the 3-1 pitch to Huff with two outs and the bases loaded. That it was called a ball wasn't a bad call, but it wasn't a good call either. The strike zone box Fox displays showed that the pitch indeed hit the upper part it, although McCarver's point that pitchers don't get good calls when they are otherwise pitching erratically was legitimate. When Holland was taken out of the game after walking Huff and they went to a commercial, I rewound that pitch three times to take more looks at it. Tough, tough call.

Re: Congrats to the Texas Rangers
What format does the WS follow? I thought they followed the 2-2-1-1-1 format, but since today's 5th game is at Texas that isn't the case. Do they go 3-3-1, or 2-3-2? I thought today's game would be in SF, but that's not the case.
